RESOLUTION NO, 7663
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING 1049 W. CLIFTON AVENUE AS A HISTORIC PROPERTY
(HISTORIC AND SCENIC RESOURCE NO, 127)
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations
governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties; and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has held a duly noticed public
hearing on July 7, 2016 to consider the designation of the following as a historic property: 1049 West
Clifton Avenue, Redlands, California, 92373 (County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel No. (0172-
341-26); and,
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Corninission has nominated the above-
mentioned property as a historic property on July 7, 2016 in accordance Nvith procedures established in
Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a duly noticed public hearing to
consider the recon-imendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. The following property owned by Eric and Jennifer Hill is hereby designated as a
historic property: 1049 W. Clifton Avenue, Redlands, California, 92373 (County of San Bernardino
Assessor's Parcel No. 0172-341-26) in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.62.170 of the
Redlands Municipal Code in that the contributing two-story single family dwelling, constructed in 1901,
has unique design and detail and is a particularly good examples of the Queen Anne-Victorian
architectural style.
Section 2. The residence at 1049 West Clifton Avenue shall be officially known as the
"Alfred E. Lee Home."
.Section 3. Neither the structures on the property nor the property shall be altered on the
exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed, unless a Certificate of
Appropriateness or Certificate of Hardship has been first secured ftorn the City of Redlands.
S e et1.1no 11.4. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to cause a certified copy
of this Resolution to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino.
Section 5. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of this Resolution is exempt
from review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("C'EQA")pursuant to section 15061(b)(3)
of the state's CE QA Guidelines because it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that
approval of this Resolution may have a significant impact on the environment.
