BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDLANDS AND THE, REDLANDS POLICE
OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
Holiday Pay Cash Out
Article 26 of the current agreement between the City of Redlands and the Redlands Police
Officers Association (RPOA) allows for accrued holidays to be paid off during January of each
year. Per CCR Section 571(x) a written policy must exist which indicates the conditions of this
type of special payment.
Effective 11/4/2014, Article 26 shall be amended to include the following (added language in
italics):
Employees in the unit shall not be allowed' to carry holidays over from one calendar year to
the next. Holidays not taken by December 3111 of any ,given year shall be paid off during
January of the year fallowing the year in which the holidays were accrued'. Holidays shall be
paid at the rate of pay applicable to the shift to which the employee is regularly assigned and
shall include supplemental pay(POST certification pay) which may apply to the specific officer.
The City will report to CaIPE'RS the Holiday Crash Out amounts. This amount is derived from on
employee's left over Holiday Cash Out amount and paid at regular rote, which includes base
payrote and POST Certification pay. The City will report the Holiday Cash Out on annual
basis to CalPERS in January of each year.
