Reference is made to Grant of Easement dated 3 January 1967, from
the City of Redlands to the United States of An--rica, for the use
of 6.63 acres, more or less, by Norton Air Force Base as a restricted
safety area. The easement expired by its own terms on 2 January 1977.
The Department of the Air Force has a continuing requirement for the
area, identified as Tract 130-rE. Accordingly, we inclose Quitclaim Deed
for approval and execution by the City, effective 3 January 1.977.
It is also requested that copy of the Minutes of the Meeting of the
City Council, approving the easement, be furnished us.

FOR A VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
the CITY OF REI7LANDS, a Municipal Corporation, does hereby grant to THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and its assigns, an easement for the establishment,
maintenance, operation and use for a restricted safety area,.in, on, over,
and across the land described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and by reference
made a part hereof, consisting of the right to prohibit human habitation;
the right to prohibit gatherings of more than twenty-five (25) persons; the
right to post signs indicating the nature and extent of.the Government's
control; and the right of ingress and egress over and across said land for
-the purpose of exercising the rights set forth herein; subject however, to
existing easements for public roads and highways, public utilities, railroads
and pipelines; reserving, however, to the City of Redlands, its successors
and assigns, all such rights and privileges as may be used without inter-
fering with or abridging the rights and easement hereby acquired.. This
easement to be of la -year duration beginning on 3 January 1977.
