HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2843ORDINANCE NO. 2843 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING A REVISED LAND USE ZONING MAP AND PREZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO (ZONE CHANGE NO. 450) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code section 65855, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed proposed Zone Change No. 450 (the "Zone Change") to change the City's land use zoning map for 18.54 acres identified as Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-101-01, 04 and located on the east side of Wabash Avenue, north of Highland Avenue and south of Citrus Avenue from unincorporated San Bernardino County RL -5 (Rural Living — 5 Acre Minimum) to the City of Redlands R -E (Residential Estate) District; and WHEREAS, on November 22, 2016, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on the Zone Change and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff, the applicant for the proposed Zone Change, and testimony from members of the public; and WHEREAS, the Planning Coinlnission has recommended to the City Council that the Zone Change be approved; and WHEREAS on November 17, 2016, notice of this City Council's public hearing for the Zone Change was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, on December 20, 2016, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Co>ninission, the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on the Zone Change, at which this City Council provided opportunity for public testimony, the City Council determined that adoption of the Zone Change is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; Section 1. The zoning designation for approximately 18.54 acres of property, identified as Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-101-01, 04 and located on the east side of Wabash Avenue, north of Highland Avenue and south of Citrus Avenue from unincorporated San Bernardino County RL -5 (Rural Living — 5 Acre Minimum) to the City of Redlands R -E (Residential Estate) District, as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A." 1:1cclerk10rdinancesWos 2800-2899 in Word12843 ZC 450 12.20.16.doe Section 2. Pursuant to Government Code section 65859, the new zoning prescribed by this ordinance shall take effect at the tune of annexation of Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-101-01, 04 to the City of Redlands becomes effective. Section 3. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
