EASEMENT DEED
FOR A VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, a corporation, does hereby grant to
the CITY OF REDLANDS an easement for sidewalk purposes and incidents thereto,
upon and across the real property in the City of Redlands, County of San Ber-
nardino, State of California, described as follows .
"That portion of 80-foot wide Cajon Street vacated by
Resolution No. 925, recorded in Book 4448, Page 14, Official
Records of San Bernardino County, described as follows ;
COMMENCING at the most Southerly corner of that certain
parcel of land conveyed in trust to the town of Redlands
for public use as a fountain and watering place as per
Book 56 of Deeds, Page 380, Records of said County, said
point being shown by Record of Survey recorded in Book 27
of Surveys, Page 26, records of said County; thence North
340 271 13" West along the Westerly line of the aforesaid �
parcel ofland 9090 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING!
thence Soo uth 00 01 ' 00" East along the West right of way ;
line of Orange Street, 3000 feet; thence South 890 57' 05"
West parallel with the Centerline of Citrus Avenue, 11 .28
feet; thence North 340 271 13" West parallel with the
Westerly line of the aforesaid parcel of land conveyed in
trust to the Town of Redlands , 46.34 feet to a point on the
South line of Citrus Avenue; thence North 890 57' 05" East
along the South line of said Citrus Avenue, 13.33 feet to
the intersection of said line and the Westerly line of the
aforesaid parcel of land conveyed in trust to the town of
Redlands; thence South 340 27' 13" East along the Westerly
line of the aforesaid parcel , 42.70 feet to the point of
beginning."
Except therefrom a perpetual nonexclusive easement upon, over, under,
across and along the property being conveyed hereinabove, to construct, use,
maintain, operate, alter, add to, repair, replace or remove facilities con-
sisting of cables , wires , underground conduits , manholes , vaults and other
appurtenances for the transmission of electrical energy for communication,
light, heat, power or other purposes. The grantor, its successors and assigns ,
and their respective agents, contractors and employees, shall have the right
of ingress, regress and egress with respect to said easement and every part
thereof at all times for the purpose of exercising the rights herein reserved.

It is further agreed that the CITY OF REDLANDS shall indemnify and
hold GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA harmless from any and all
liability, claims, damages, suits (without limiting the generality of the
foregoing) arising out of or relating to any installation, operation,
maintenance or use of said road easement deed, howsoever caused and whom-
soever caused by including, but not limited to, the active and passive
negligence of the City of Redlands, its agents , servants or employees, or
any third parties solely or contributorily responsible.
The property granted hereby is not necessary or useful in the per-
formance of the duties of grantor to the public

CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE
This is to certify that the interest in real property conveyed by
xxapowaodoTx Easement Deed dated December 4 , 1973, from General Telephone
Company of California to the City of Redlands, a political corporation and/or
governmental agency, is hereby accepted by order of the City Council on
February 19 , 1974, and the Grantee consents to recordation thereof
by its duly authorized officer.
