A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE CONTINUED LEVY OF
ASSESSMENTS, APPOINTING AN ASSESSMENT ENGINEER, AND
ORDERING THE PREPARATION OF AN ENGINEER'S REPORT IN THE
MATTER OF LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO I
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Redlands(this "City
Council"), that the public interest, convenience and necessity requires the manitenance of
landscaping as set forth m Section 22525 of the California Streets and Highways Code, and
WHEREAS, this City Council has forinned Redlands' Landscape Maintenance District No
1 to pay the costs foi the maintenance such landscaping, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this City Council to initiate proceedings and order the
preparation of an engineer's report to levy assessments for the fiscal year 2017-2018 upon
properties located within Landscape Maintenance District No 1, and
WHEREAS, this City Council further desires to appoint Redlands' Assistant City
Engineer, Michael Pool, RCE 49585, as the "Assessment Engineer" for Landscape Maiitenance
District No 1,
NOW, THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows
Section 1 That the public interest, convenience and necessity requires the continued
levy of assessments within Landscape Maiitenance District No 1 for the purpose of maintaining
landscaping and improvements as authorized by Section 22620 of the California Streets and
Highways Code and m compliance with the requirements of Article XIIID and Section 19 of
Article XVI of the California Constitution
Section 2 That the properties to be assessed for the maintenance and operation of the
landscaping and improvements shall be those pioperties located within the boundaries of
Landscape Maintenance District No 1
Section 3 That the proceedings for the continued levy of assessments within
Landscape Maintenance District No 1 shall be conducted in accordance with provisions of
Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code (the Landscaping and Lighting Act of
1972) and in compliance with the requirements of Article XIIID and Section 19 of Article XVI of
the California Constitution
Section 4 That Redlands' Assistant City Engineer, Michael Pool, RCE No 49585,
having an office at 35 Capon Street, Suite 15A, Redlands, California, is hereby appointed

Assessment Engineer and shall have the authority conferred upon the Assessment Engmeer by the
Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972
Section 5 That the Assessment Engineer is hereby ordered to prepare a report in
accordance with California Streets and Highways Code section 22622
