A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING A
TEMPORARY REDUCTION OF ANIMAL ADOPTION FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE
STEINORTH 100 FREE ADOPTION EVENT TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 4-5, 2017
WHEREAS, the Redlands Animal Shelter works with various local businesses,
rescues, and volunteer organizations on adoption events aimed at increasing pet adoptions from
the shelter, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Member Marc Stemorth would like to host and sponsor the
Stemorth 100 Pet Adoption event at the Redlands Animal Shelter on August 4-5, 2017, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Steulorth 100 Pet Adoption event is to raise awareness
of shelter overcrowding and to encourage adoptions at participating shelters throughout the 40`x'
Assembly District, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Member Marc Steinorth has requested the City reduce the cost
of the animal adoptions to $30 00 per annual for this event, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands desires to support the Stemorth
100 Free Pet Adoption Event and temporarily reduce the animal adoption fee to $30 00 for this
event,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS as follows
Section 1. The City Council hereby temporarily reduces the animal adoption fees
from $86 00 to $30 00 per dog and from $50 00 to $30 00 per cat for the Stemorth 100 Pet
Adoption event being held on August 4-5, 2017
