SUBJECT- AMENDMENT NO 3 TO AUTOMATIC AID AGREEMENT NO. 06-435 WITH THE
CITY OF REDLANDS
RECOMMENDATIONS)
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, approve
Amendment No. 3 of Agreement No 06-435 with the City of Redlands for reciprocal fire, rescue
and emergency medical services to include additional areas annexed by the City of Redlands

Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This reciprocal agreement between the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District (SBCFPD)
and the City of Redlands (City) does not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net
County Cost) In accordance with this agreement, automatic aid is provided on a voluntary basis
at no cost to either party
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On June 6, 2006 (Item No 28), the Board of Directors (Board) approved Automatic Aid
Agreement No 06-435 between SBCFPD and the City that provided reciprocal fire, rescue
responses, and emergency medical services for the unincorporated areas of Mentone that were
in the process of being annexed into the City, as well as other portions of the City This
agreement was based on the February 2006 Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO)
recommendations for Mentone Area Annexations (2989, 2990, 3028 and 3030) to the City
Under Agreement No 06-435, SBCFPD remained the first responder and continues to provide
fire protection and other emergency services to the annexed areas This determination was
made based on the proximity of SBCFPD's Fire Station #9 In return for services provided by
SBCFPD to the annexed areas, the City agreed to respond with a truck company to all structure
fires within the unincorporated areas of Mentone

Agreement No 06-435 was subsequently amended, as follows, to add additional parcels to this
agreement
• Amendment No 1 approved on April 22, 2008 (Item No 77) for LAFCO 3093
(Annexations 88 and 89)
• Amendment No 2 approved on September 9, 2008 (Item No 99) for LAFCO 3105
Approval of this Amendment No 3 will revise the agreement to include the annexation of
additional parcels from the unincorporated areas of Mentone into the City under LAFCO actions
3195 and 3207 All areas now covered under Agreement No 06-435 are reflected in the updated
map included as an attachment to this item This agreement shall remain in effect until a mutually
agreed upon termination
