HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_195-2017 Side Letter to the Current Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redlands and the Redlands Association of Department Directors (RADD) On June 6, 2017 the City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redlands ("the City") and the Redlands Association of Department Directors ("RADD"), effective July 1, 2017 —June 30, 2018 Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding a provision for a Medical Bridge benefit for directors hired after January 1, 2009 This side letter agreement between the City of Redlands and the Redlands Association of Department Directors will clarify the intent of the medical bridge benefit to apply to all directors if they fail to achieve the years of service requirement for lifetime medical This side letter agreement between the City of Redlands ("the City") and the Redlands Association of Department Directors ("RADD") is hereby entered into agreement on this 3rd day of October, 2017 The parties agree to amend as follows Article 12 Lifetime Medical • Directors hired after January 1, 2009 whom achieve three (3) years of service and directors who do not achieve lifetime medical shall be entitled to a "medical bridge" program for themselves upon separation from the City until they become Medicare eligible "Medical Bridge" is defined as employee only coverage and directors who are eligible for bridge insurance will be entitled to the least expensive equivalent health and dental insurance plan as provided by the City to it's existing Directors through the CaIPERS medical plan until the employee reaches the age of Medicare eligibility at which time the benefit will cease Directors who receive the medical bridge program can select coverage for dependents, however, the additional cost must be paid for by the respective director and will not be paid for by the City CITY OF REDLANDS �&Q_L6 q t 9 A-7 Paul W Foster, Mayor Date REDLANDS ASSOCIATION OF DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS Mark Garcia, Pr ' en bate ATTEST d�a/nne Donaldson, City Clerk
