The Gra ntor$ CITY OF REDLANDS,, a municipal corporation, hereby grants to
the SOUTHERN CALMRMA ED160 'COMPANY, a oorporationj its successors and
assigna, the right to construrt, use, maintain.. alter, add to,, repair, re-
place and/or remove$ in, on, and unser the real property hereinafter des-
cribed, situated in, the County of San Bernardino, State of California., an
underground elecstrie system, consisting of underground conduits and pull
boxes, together vith and other futures and appliances therein and neces-
sary appurtenances, and aa eleotric line consisting of one pole and a guy
wire and anchor for conveying electric energy to be used for light.. heat,
power, telephone and/or other purposes. The Grantee shall have the right
to place and maintain on aaai.d poles in said underground conduits, and pull
boxes as many wires and other necessary appliances as it shall desire to
do in the educt of its business.
Said underground conduit and pull box shalll, be installed and maintained
within a rectangular Parcel of land 15 feet long and 20 feet wide, lying
within Lot 9 in Block A of the Orange Grove Addition, as per Amp, recorded
in Book 4, Ragas V of Maps, records of saa.d. County of San Bernardino; said
Parcel bas,'eng described as fol.lowas
Beginning at the northwest corner of said lot 9, thence easterly 4.5
feet to the True Point of Beginning; thence East along the North Line of
said bot 9, 20 feet; toence South parallel math the West line of said Lot
9, 15 feet; thence Vent parallel, with the North line of said Lot 9, 20
feet; thence North to the point of beginning.
Also underground conducts shall be placed within a strip of land 5
feet in width lying within a. strip of laud 1.5 Feet wide which lies North
of and adjacent to the North line of said Lot 9, with the East line of
the 5 foot strip of land being described as follows: Beginning at the
Southwest corner of Lot 1, Park Addition, as per plat recorded in Book
15 of Maps, 1Age 651 records of said County; .:hence South along the South-
erly prolongation of the Westerly line of Lot l of the said Bark. Addition
to the North line of said. lot 91 Block A of said Orange Grave Addition.
The pole, anchor and guy -wire shall be located within the North 2..,feet
of the 'fest 30 feet of Lot 7, C e Grove Addition,,tion, as per plat recorded
in Boob 4 of Ham page , records of s&td County.
The Grantee,, its successors and assigns, and its employees and agents,
shall at any time when necesoaxy and at all reasonable times have free
access to said underground facilities., and pull boxes and all portions
thereof, .for the purpose of exercising the rights herein granted, pro-
vided however., that in making any excavation on any part of said property
of the grantors the, Grantee herein shy make the awe in such a manner
as will clause the least fury to the surface of the earth around such
excavation and shall replace the earth so removed by it in as near the
same condition as it was pricer to such excavation as is possible.

Enclosed herewith is our Grant of Easement form covering our
new underground facilities being installed at the request of
the California Water and Telephone Company. We will remove
the overhead facilities now extending along the North line of
the City of Redlands property. We will be required' however,
to place a stub pole and anchor along the North lane of the
City property lust East of 4th Street to hold the existing
Line extending West of I+th Street, along the existing alley.
If the above .meets with your approval and the approval of the
City Council, please have the proper officials sign the en-
closed easement and have their signatures acknowledged by a
Notary Public. We would also appreciate a True Copy of the
Minutes of the City Council as perta,ins to this easement.
