I AGREEF1ENT
2 THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 1st day of
3 July, 1950, by and between the COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a body
4 corporate and politic of the State of California, hereinafter re-
5 ferred to as COUNTY, and the CITY OF REDLANDS, a municipal corpora-
6 tion, hereinafter referred to as CITY,
7 WITNESSETH:
RECITALS
1.
10 It is mutually understood and agreed that both parties
11 are desirous of securing uniform enforcement of all laws and ordi-
12 nances pertaining to the public health and sanitation within the
13 incorporated area of the City of Redlands and the unincorporated
14 area immediately adjacent thereto and that the Health Department
15 of the County of San Bernardino is equipped to render such service,
16 AGREEMENTS
17 Pursuant to the foregoing recitals it is hereby mutually
18 agreed:

20 That pursuant to the provisions of Division 1, Part 2,
21 Chapter 1, Article 2A of the Health and Safety Code of the State
22 of California, County agrees to perform by and through the County
23 Health Officer and other employees of the County, all functions
24 relating to the enforcement in the City of Redlands of all ordi-
Z5 nances thereof relating to public health and sanitation, except
26 ordinances pertaining to the control of rabies, and the making of
27 all inspections and the performance of all functions in connection
28 therewith, and City agrees to accept such services and to pay for
29 the same as hereinafter provided.

31 That the services provided for herein shall begin on the
32 first day of July, 1950, and terminate on the 30th day of June ,
1951.

2 That during the time this contract shall remain in
3 effect the County Health Officer and his deputies shall exercise
4 the same powers and duties in the City of Redlands as are conferrer
5 upon health officers thereof by law.

7 That while engaged in the performance of their duties
8 and functions pursuant to this Agreement, the County Health Officer ,
9 his deputies and employees shall be deeried to be County officers
10 and employees and not City officers and employees of the City of
11 Redlands.
12 5.
13That for the performance of the services and functions
141 herein provided for City agrees to pay to County the total sum of
15 $2,500-00, payable $1, 250.00 on December 15th, 1950, and $1,250 .00
16 on June 1st , 1951, and that said compensation is deemed to be suf-
17 ficient in amount to repay the County for the entire cost to it of
18 the services to be performed for City and required in the enforce-
19 went of ordinances of the City of Redlands under the terms . her.eof.

Dear Mr.Coffee;
For the past four years it has been the pleasure and responsibility of
the County health Department to assist you by contract an the health
protection, of your citizens. We feel that this arrangement has been
mutually satisfactory to all concerned. It is now time for us to plan
the distribution of our personnel and activities for the coming fiscal
year. If it is your desire that the present contractual arrangement be
continued during the coming fiscal year will you kindly so advise us at
your earliest convenience so that we may make arrangements as soon as
possible to continue to serve your city? Upon receiving notice of your
desire, we will forward you a contract for official, signature of the
Mayor and Clerk.
I wish to express any personal appreciation of the fine cooperation all
of your city officials and employees have shown health department per-
sonnel. Please be assured that at is the constant desire of this. de-.
partment to gave your city the best possible health protection.
