THIS AGREEMENT, made this 1st day of i,ctobe R, :1.95.1, by and betweei
the City of Redlands, California, a municipal corporation, first
party, and Roy V. Shutt of Calimesa, California, second party,
ITIvESSETh:
The parties hereto for the term of one (1) year commencing on the
1st day of Gctober, 19'5"L, '5"L, and ending on the Ath day of September,
11952, do hereby agree as follows:
That the said first party in consideration of the covenants on th(
part of the said second party herein contained, hereby agrees with
the said second party, to allow and permit second party to have an
exclusive contract for collection of approximately one (1) ton of
garbage per day six (6) days a Meek from restaurants, hotels,
markets, schools and hospitals within said City of Redlands under
the supervision of the City Disposal Superintendent, said second
party to use his own equipment and employees in collection of said
garbage.
That the second party in consideration of the said covenants on
the part of the first party, agrees to and with the said first
party, to collect approximately one (1) ton of garbage a day from
restaurants, hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within said
City, six (61 days per geek, with his own equipment and employees
under the direction of the Disposal Superintendent as above set
forth, and that said second party will pay to the said first party,
or its order, the sure of Forty Dollars (440'.00) per month, payable
in advance on the lst day of each month in said term, except for th(
months of June, July and August of each year, wherein said monthly
sum shall be the amount of Twenty -Fiore Dollars ($25.00) per month
payable in advance on the first day of each of said three months.
That it is mutually agreed that this contract may be cancelled
and abrogated by first party, said City of Redlands, upon First

Party serving to Second Party a thirty (30) day notice in writing
of its intention to cancel said contract.
It is mutually understood that the said First Party will
be diligent in its efforts to prevent any other party during the
term of this contract from collecting green cuttings or garbage
from restaurants, hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within
this city, provided however that the within contract is in full
force and effect.
Second Party agrees to post the sup! of One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) with said First Party, in Lieu of a faithful performance
bond, and agrees to forfeit the same to First Party should he
fail to perform under the teras of the within contract in a good
and workmanlike manner to the satisfaction of the City Disposal
Superintendent.
IN WI` 14ESS 'dlE-CisOF, the City of Redlands has caused its
corporate name to be subscribed by the Mayor and the City Clerk
and has caused its corporate seal to be attached, as First
Party, and the said Roy V. Shutt has hereunto placed his hand
and seal., as Second Party.
