HomeMy WebLinkAbout7849RESOLUTION NO 7849 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO 137 TO THE REDLANDS GENERAL PLAN TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM `PUBLIC INSTITUIONAL' TO `COMMERCIAL' FOR FIFTEEN PARCELS LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF NORTH EUREKA STREET AND BROOKSIDE AVENUE (APNs 0171-211-13-0000 THROUGH 0171-211- 21-0000,0171-211- 25-0000, AND 0171-101-01-0000 THROUGH 0171-211-05-0000) WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code section 65855, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands reviewed proposed General Plan. Amendment No 137 (the "Amendment") to amend the General Plan land use designation of fifteen parcels of property located at the northwest corner of Brookside Avenue and North Eureka Street from `Public Institutional' to `Commercial' (APNs 0171-211-13-0000 through 21-0000, 0171-211-25-0000, and 0171-101-01-0000 through 05- 0000), and WHEREAS, on May 8, 2018, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on the Amendment and related project entitlements, and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff, the applicant for the proposed Amendment, and testimony from members of the pubhc, and WHEREAS, on May 8, 2018, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No 1387 recommending approval of the Amendment to the City Council, and WHEREAS on May 24, 2018, notice of the City Council's public hearing for the Amendment was published it the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk, and WHEREAS, on June 5, 2018, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public, and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on the Amendment, the City Council determined that adoption of the Amendment is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS Section 1. General Plan Amendment No 137 is hereby approved to change the General Pian land use designation of fifteen parcels, totaling approximately 2 8 acres, from `Public Institutional' to `Commercial' located at the northwest corner of Brookside Avenue and North Eureka Street (APNS 0171-211-13-0000 through 0 171-211-21-0000, 0171-211-25-0000, and 0171-101-01-0000 through 0171-101-05-0000), as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A " -1- 11Resolutnons\Res 7800 7899/7849 GPA 137 doe Section 2 EFFECTIVE DATE.
