A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
REMOVING PROPERTY FROM THE CITY'S AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE
(AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE REMOVAL NO 125)
WHEREAS, the Planning Cominission of the City of Redlands has reviewed the proposed
Agricultural Preserve Removal No 125 (the "Agricultural Preserve Removal") to remove 9 62 acres
from the City -designated agricultural preserve, located easterly of Judson Street and northerly of
Lugoma Avenue (Assessor's Parcel Nos 0168-161-06-0000) and after holding a noticed public
hearing, made a written recommendation for adoption of the Agricultural Preserve Removal to the
City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has established certain agricultural preserves pursuant to
the California Land Conservation Act of 1965, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established criteria for removal of lands from within the
City's Agricultural Preserve, and
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2018, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on
Agricultural Preserve Removal No 125 and considered verbal and written testunony of City staff, the
apphcant, and testimony from members of the public, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council that Agricultural
Preserve Removal No 125 be approved, and
WHEREAS on June 8, 2018, notice of this City Council's public hearing for the Agricultural
Preserve Removal was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2019, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff
written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the testimony and written
evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public, and
WHEREAS, following a public hearing on the proposed Agricultural Preserve Removal, at
which this City Council provided opportunity for public testimony, the City Council determined that
adoption of the Agricultural Preserve Removal is in the best interests of the public health, safety and
general welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows
Section 1 The City Council of the City of Redlands herby deterinmes that the applicant
and legal owner of the property designated as Assessor's Parcel Nos 0168-161-06-0000 has filed an
application in conformity with the Redlands General Plan, that the land requested to be removed from
the preserve does not circumvent any contract entered into pursuant to the California Land
Conservation Act of 1965, and that the removal of the property will not adversely unpact the City's

goal of discouraging premature and unnecessary conversion of agricultural land to urban uses, and
will not encourage discontinuous urban development patterns that unnecessarily increase the cost of
community serves to Redlands' citizens
Section 2 Assessor's Parcel No 0168-161-06 is hereby removed from the City's
Agricultural Preserve and the City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the City's map accordingly, to
show the revised boundaries of the City's agricultural preserve
Section 3 This Resolution shall take effect only after the adoption, and on the effective
date, of the City of Redlands Ordinance No 2873
