A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING THE TERMINATION OF THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
CANYON CITY TRANSFER & STORAGE, INC DATED MAY 18, 2004 FOR
THE PROPERTY AT 31 W STUART AVENUE (APN 0169-281-19-0000)
WHEREAS, the former Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands ("Foriner
Agency") entered into a Lease Agreement with Canyon City Transfer & Storage, Inc dated May
18, 2004 for the property at 31 W Stuart Avenue ("Property"), and
WHEREAS, the Successor Agency to the Former Agency ("Successor Agency"), pursuant
to Section 23 b of the Lease Agreement was a successor in interest to the Lease Agreement and
possessed the rights of the Former Agency under the Lease Agreement, and
WHEREAS, the Property has been designated for government use in the Successor
Agency's Long Range Property Management Plan as the City intends to build a public parking
facility on the property to support a future passenger rail project in the city of Redlands, and
WHEREAS, the Property was transferred by the Successor Agency to the City in
anticipation of the construction of a parking facility, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 23 b of the Lease Agreement, the City is a successor m
interest to the Lease Agreement and possesses the rights of the Successor Agency under the Lease
Agreement, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 The termination of the Lease Agreement is exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Section 15061(B)(3), for the reason that it can be seen with
certainty that the termination will not result in any physical changes to the land or environment,
and therefore there is no possibility of causing a significant effect on the environment
SECTION 2 The Lease Agreement with Canyon City Transfer & Storage, Inc is hereby
terminated
SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption
