NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS Pursuant to resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Redlands, California, directing this notice, the undersigned invites and will -receive at his office in the City Hall, in said city, up to tNvo o clocic p m on the fiftl► clay of February, 1913, seated proposals or'1►uis, for furnishing the following equipment Electrical ea► •l -y for tl►e City Mu- nicipal Water Plant which will re quire a maximum of 600 h p Also power plant complete to fur nish 600 h. p. electrical energy Bids on steam,, gasoline and crude oil en gines will be considered. All accord - Ing to specifical.►ons therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, to which flans reference is here- by made Bidders must file with each pro- po5al' ou bid a check payable to said city, certified by a responsible haul:, foi an amount which shall not be less than two pe► cent of the aggregate of the proposal Bids will lie opened on the 5th day of February, 191:., at 2 o'clock p. m., and if a contract for said work be not then awarded, further bids will be re ceived at any subsequent meeting of said board until a contract therefor shall be awarded For further particulars and corn plete specifications for the above ref. erence is made to Geo S Hinckley City Engineer, Redlands, California, or F F Trask Consulting Engineer G16 Union oil Building Los Angeles Dated January 24, 1913 R WARNER THOMAS, City Clerk VIITM AS, the existing agreement for electric power service between the Southern Sierras power Company and the City of Redlands provides, among other things, that tre City shall have the right, option and privilege, upon reasonable notice in writing to the Power Company, of increasing the amount of electric energy to be taken by the City to a maximum therein specified and that the City shall take and use from said Company during the tern of said agreement or any extension thereof, all the electric energy required by t're City for purposes of its Municipal pumping, and insR &S, n the jn6g ment of this Board it appears to be des- ra.ble and for the best interest of this City that the City take from said ''lower Conpary such increased amount of elect±ac energy as may be necessary for tT)e operation of the pumping plant now located in reservoir Canyon (being the same pumping plant formerly owned by the Redlands, ,ugoni.a and Crafton Donesti.c eater Company), Now Wherefore be it Resolved, that the Southern S?errvs Pourer Company be and said Company as hereby re- quested and notified, w. -.thin reasonable tire after the receipt by said Cor:-pany of a. copy of these resolutions to extend its service lines to the City Is said -pumping plant at said Reservo-r Canyon, and to make such connection with the City's electric motors as may be necessary and proper under this terms of the agra-ement hereinbefore .referred to for the efficient pperation of the said pumping plant by electric power, provided, however, that the aggregate horse power of current supnlied under said agreement shall not exceed the maximum of 1000 horse power 17mated by the terms of tT,e agreer nt heretofore made between the said power Co- mpany and the Cita of Redlands; and provided, ,further tl-Dt the electric energy so required for said ptizmpi ng plant, and. the furn:i sli:. whereof, sl-a.li not be deemed a beginning of service under the terms of said contract for the purpose of reckoning the beginning of the service year referred to in said contract, not shall this resolution nor the furnichire or accentance of electric energy for said plant prior to the use of said energy for the pumping plants of said city to be hereafter instilled ae con— templated by said contract, be deeced as starting the mininnm yearly compensation referred to in said contract.
