ASSOCIATION SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT (2018)
This Side Letter of Agreement amending the July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2023 Memorandum of
Understanding between the Redlands Civilian Safety Employees Association ("RCSEA") and the
City of Redlands ("City") is made and entered into this 20th day of November, 2018 RCSEA and
the City are sometimes individually referred to herein as a "Party" and, together, as the "Parties "
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2017, RCSEA and the City agreed to a Memorandum of
Understanding ("MOU") for the period of July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2023, and
WHEREAS, the Parties now wish to clarify their intentions with respect to Article 20,
Section F of the MOU, and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City and RCSEA have met and conferred in good faith,
and now wish to effect changes with respect to Article 20, Section F of the MOU,
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, RCSEA
and the City agree as follows
AGREEMENT
Section 1 Article 20, Section F of the MOU, entitled "Health Insurance," is hereby amended
to read as follows
Unit members with ten (10) years of continuous employment with the City who concurrently retire
from the City and the CalPERS system may elect to receive "Medical Bridge" health insurance
from the city "Medical Bridge" health insurance is defined as single party coverage for the retired
unit member only Members who elect medical bridge health insurance will be entitled to coverage
under the lowest cost medical and dental insurance plans as provided by the City to its then existing
Unit members until the member reaches the age of Medicare eligibility at which time the benefit
will cease Unit members who receive the medical bridge health insurance can select higher cost
plans offered by the City to its then existing members and/or coverage for dependents, however,
the additional cost for the plan or additional dependents shall be paid for by the Unit member and
not by the City
