HomeMy WebLinkAbout7943 RESOLUTION NO 7943 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES' PROCLAMATION OF EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, section 2 52 100 of the Redlands Municipal Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services/City Manager to proclaim a local emergency if the City Council is not in session and requires that the City Council shall take action to ratify the proclamation within seven days thereafter, and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen witlun the City of Redlands, caused by a severe weather event resulting in road damage, commencing on 14th day of February, and WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find that the above described conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency, and WHEREAS, the City Manager, acting as the Director of Emergency Services, did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within the City on the 14th day of February, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redlands that the Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency, as issued by the Director of Emergency S ervices/City Manager, is hereby ratified and confirmed BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Redlands ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 19U' day of February, 2019 aul W Foster, Mayor ATTEST e Donaldson, City Clerk -1- I IResolutions\Res 7900 7999%7943 Confirnung CADES.Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency doe PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, section 2 52 100 of the Redlands Municipal Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when the City is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the City Council is not in session, and WHEREAS, the City Manager, as Director of Emergency Services of the City of Redlands, does hereby find that 1 Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the City of Redlands, caused by a severe weather event resulting in infrastructure, street and property damage, commencing on or about 10 36 a in on the day of 13ffi day of February, 2019, and 2 That the City Council of the City of Redlands is not in session and cannot immediately be called into session NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency now exists throughout the City, and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said local emergency the powers functions and duties of the emergency organization of this City shall be those prescribed by state law ordinances, and resolutions of this City, and by the City of Redlands' Emergency Plan, and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that this local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist for the next seven days, and thereafter by ratification of the City Council, until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Redlands February 14, 2019 a e McConnell Director of Emergency Services City of Redlands, California -1- 11ResolutionslRes 7900 79991Proclamation Local Emergency Flood.2 13.2019.doc I, Jeanne Donaldson, City Clerk of the City of Redlands, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of February, 2019 by the following vote AYES Councilmembers Barich, Tejeda, Momberger, Davis, Mayor Foster NOES None ABSENT None ABSTAIN None J e Donaldson, City Clerk
