RESOLUTION NO. 2080
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING PROPOSITION NO. 1.
WHEREAS, on November 8th, 1960, the voters of the City of Redlands
and the State of California will consider Proposition No. 1 which, if
approved, will finance construction of the California Water Plan; and
WHEREAS, California' s drastic water shortage has been made even more
acute by the special referee ' s report to the Supreme Court of the United
States fixing the allocation of Colorado River water for Southern
California; and
WHEREAS, supplementary water is essential to meet the ever increa-
sing needs for domestic , industrial, commercial and agricultural growth;
and
WHEREAS, the California Water Plan, will conserve and distribute
River water, and this project water provides a supplementary source for
Southern California and San Bernardino County as a result of construc-
tion of the East Branch of the aqueduct , called the "Highlihe" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Redlands hereby reaffirms its support and approval of Proposition No . 1.
