RESOLUTION NO. 2517
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT A PORTION OF
A CERTAIN STREET IS UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE
STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF PORTION OF SAID
STREET
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and re-
solves as follows -
SECTION ONE- The City Council of the City of Redlands having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3 , Chapter
2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and
having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from
all the evidence submitted that the street described in this resolu-
tion is unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that the
public interest and convenience requires the closing of said street
SECTION TWO : The City Council hereby orders the vacation of a
portion of a street described as follows
All that portion of Redlands Street as shown on Map of East
Redlands record d in took of "Maps, Page 47 , records of San
Bernardino County, California, described as follows -
Commencing at the centerline intersection of Redlands Street
and the portion of Highland Avenue easterly of said Redlands
Street ; thence southeasterly along the centerline of 70' wide
Redlands Street a distance of 539 77 ' ; thence S 340 24 , 001,
W 35 .58 ' to the westerly line of Redlands Street , thence
southeasterly along said westerly line of Redlands Street a
distance of 153 .24 , to the true point of beginning, thence
N 420 28 , 15" E, a distance of 7.36 , to the beginning of a
curve concave to the northwest and having a radius of 52 '
and initial tangent bearing of S 620 34, 42" E, thence along
said curve to its intersection with the easterly line of 70'
wide Redlands Street ; thence southeasterly along said easterly
line of Redlands Street to its intersection with a line par-
allel to and 44, westerly of (measured at right angles ) the
centerline of 60 , wide Dearborn Street , thence southerly along
said parallel line to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
to the northwest and having a radius of 13 ' ; thence along said
curve to its tangent point on a line parallel to and 44 , from
(measured at right angles) the centerline of Crafton Avenue
(now Fifth Avenue ) ; thence along said parallel .line to its
intersection with the westerly line of Redlands Street ; thence
northwesterly along the westerly line of Redlands Street to
the true point of beginning.

SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for vacation of the street described in Section 2 , the City
of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the permanent
easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct ,
maintain, operate , replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm
drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across any street
or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to any existing
franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise , to construct, maintain,
operate , replace , remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe , conduits ,
cables, wires , poles, and other convenient structures , equipment and
fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines , telegraphic and tele-
phone lines , railroad lines, and for the distribution or transporta-
tion of electric energy, petroleum, and its products , ammonia, water
and incidental purposes, including access and right to keep property
free from inflammable materials , and wood growth, and to otherwise
protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the street pro-
posed to be vacated

SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the vaca-
tion of the street described herein is required b q y public interest ,
convenience , safety and welfare .
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April 1966.
