RESOLUTION NO. 2239
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT A PORTION OF AN ALLEY OFF
CENTRAL AVENUE IS UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE ALLEY PURPOSES AND
ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF SAID ALLEY„
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and resolves �
as follows:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands having elected 441
to proceed under the provisions of Division 9' Part 3, Chapter 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and having held a
public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all the evidence
submitted that that portion of alley described in this resolution is unnecessary
for present or prospective purposes and that the public interest and
convenience requires the closing of that portion of said alley.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the vacation of that portion
of an alley off Central. Avenue described as follows.
All of that alley in the City of Redlands, County of San.
Bernardino, State of California, being a portion of
Lot 28, Block 77, Rancho San Bernardino as recorded in Book
7, Page 2, Records of said County, being also 20 feet in width and
lying midway between Orange Street and Fourth Street extending north
from the north line of Central. Avenue a distance of 90 feet, as
said streets are shorn on the map of Central. Avenue Opening and
Widening, Ordinance No. 773, as approved by City Council,
January 3, 1934.
SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City Council
for vacation of the alley described, in Section 2, the City of Redlands
reserves and excepts from the vacation the permanent easement and right at
any time, or from time to time, to construet, maintain, operate, replace,
remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures
in, upon, over and across any alley- or part theieef proposed to be vacated

and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereoft or otherwise,
to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines
of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles, and other convenient structures,
equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas pips: lines, telegraphic
and telephone lanes, railroad lines, and for the distribution or transport—
ation of electric energy, petroleum, and .its products, ammonia' waiver, and
incidental purposes, including access and right to peep property free from
inflammable materials, and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same
from all hazards in, upon, and over the alley proposed to be vacated*
SECTION POUR: The City Council hereby determines that the vacation
of that portion of alley described herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare.
