RESOLUTION NO. 3142
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT PORTIONS OF
A CERTAIN ALLEY ARE UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE
STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID PORTIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and re-
solves as follows.
SECTION ONE- The City Council of the City of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter
2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and
having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all
evidence submitted that the portions of an alley described in this reso-
lution are unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that the
public interest and convenience require the closing of said portions of
an alley
SECTION TWO The City Council hereby orders the vacation of por-
tions of an alley described as follows-
Legal Description for Vacation of portions of a certain alley of Lots
14, 15 and 33 of Tract 3580 as recorded in Book 47, page 25; and a por-
tion of Lot 8-1/4, Block Q, Addition No. 5, Second Preliminary Map of
Redlands as recorded in Book 5, page 3, in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of San Bernardino, described as follows
SECTION I - BEGINNING at the Southwesterly corner of said Lot 33, Tract
3580 ; thence N 56°19 ' 30 "E 263 . 70 feet to the Southeasterly corner of
said Lot 15, Tract 3580; thence S 33°40 ' 30"E 15.00 feet; thence S 56° Crri
l9130"W 263 .70 feet; thence N 33°40 ' 30"W 15.00 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
SECTION II - BEGINNING at the Southwesterly corner of said Lot 14, Tract
3580; thence N 56°19 ' 30"E 264.00 feet to a point on the westerly Right-
of-way line of 84 foot wide Center Street; thence S 33°4l '05"E 15 .00
feet; thence S 56°19130"W 264. 11 feet, thence N 33°40130"W 15 00 feet
to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION THREE- In the proceeding herein adopted by this City Coun-
cil for the vacation of the alley described in Section Two, the City of
Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the permanent easement
and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain, op-
erate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and
appurtenant structures, in, upon, over and across any street or part
thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to any existing franchises
or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, re-
place, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for the
operation of gas pipe lines, 3'telegraphic and telephone lines, railroad

lines, and for the distribution or transportation of electric energy,
petroleum, and its products, ammonia, water and incidental purposes, in-
cluding access and right to keep property free from inflammable materials,
and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same from all hazards in,
upon, and over the alley proposed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the vaca-
tion of portions of the alley described herein is required by public
interest, convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of September, 1974.
