A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT A PORTION
OF A CERTAIN STREET IS UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE
STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID STREET
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows
SECTION ONE The City Council of the City of Redlands , having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chap-
ter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds
from all evidence submitted tnat the street described in thjs resolu-
tion is unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that the
public interest and convenience require the closing of said street
SECTION TWO- The City Council hereby orders the vacation of a
portion of a street described as follows-
Legal Description for Vacating Portion of Fern Avenue
That portion of 100 foot wide Fern Avenue and portion of
Lot 1, Block G northerly of and adjacent to the northerly
right-of-way line of 100 foot wide Fern Avenue, being a
portion of Second Preliminary Map of Redlands as recorded
in Book 5 of Maps , Page 2 thereof, located westerly of the
line parallel with and 39 feet distant southerly, measured
at right angles from the centerline of Citrus Avenue and
easterly and southeasterly of the east line of that certain
parcel conveyed to the City of Redlands by Redlands Unified
School District by a deed recorded in Book 6648 of Official
Records , Page 656 thereof, records of San Bernardino County,
State of California.
SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for the vacation of the street described in Section 2, the City
of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the permanent ease-
ment and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct, main-
tain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm
drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across any street
or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to any existing
franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge Liles of pipe, conduits ,
cables , wires , poles and other convenient structures , equipment and
fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone
lines , railroad lines, and for the distribution or transportation of
electric energy, petroleum, and its products , ammonia, water and inci-
dental purposes , including access and right to keep property free from

inflammable materials , and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the
same from all hazards in, upon, and over the street proposed to be
vacated
SECTION FOUR• The City Council hereby determines that the vaca-
tion of the street described herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED the 5th day of January, 1971
