SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands, having elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and hav- ing held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all evidence submitted that the street and alleys described in this resolu- tion are unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that the public interest and convenience require the closing of said street and alleys SECTION TWO The City Council hereby orders the vacation of por- tions of a street and alleys described as follows- Legal Description for Vacating Portions of Stillman Avenue and certain alleys lying within Block 4, Lugonia Heights Parcel 1 - All that Portion of those certain alleys lying within Block 4, revised Map of a portion of Block 4, Lugonia Heights, as per map recorded in Book 15, Page 13 of maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county and of Stillman Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on said Map described as a whole as follows- Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 7, said Block 4; thence easterly 90 feet more or less along the north line of Lots 7 and 8, said Block 4 to the northeast corner of said Lot 8; thence southerly 170 feet more or less along the east line of said Lot 8 to the southeast corner thereof, thence westerly 180 feet more or less along the south line of Lots 8, 7, 6 and 5, said Block 4 to the southwest corner of said Lot 5; thence southerly 80 feet more or less to the northwest corner of Lot 11, Block 5, accord- ing to Map of a Portion of Lugonia Heights recorded in Book 8, page 12 of Maps , thence easterly 200 feet more or less along the north line of Lots 11, 10, 9 and 8, said Block 5 to the northeast corner of the west 20 feet of said last mentioned Lot 8; thence northerly 80 feet more or less to the southeast corner of the west 20 feet of Lot 9, said Block 4, thence northerly 186 feet more or less along the east line of said last mentioned west 20 feet and its northerly prolongation to the south line of Lot 16, said Block 4; thence westerly 110 feet more or less along the south line of Lots 16, 17 and 18, said Block 4 to the southwest corner of said Lot 18; thence southerly 16 feet more or less to the point of beginning. Except that portion thereof lying within the follow- ing described land Commencing at a point on the southerly prolongation of the west line of said Lot 5, which is 13.00 feet northerly of the south line of Stillman Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on said Map; thence easterly 53.75 feet, parallel with said south line of BOOK 7391 Act 055 Stillman Avenue to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave northwesterly, westerly, and southerly, having a radius of 47 . 00 feet, thence northeasterly, northerly and westerly 191 41 feet along the arc of said curve through a central angle of 233°20 ' 37" to the beginning of a reverse curve, concave northwesterly, hav- ing a radius of 20 . 00 feet; tnence southwesterly 18662 feet along the arc of said curve through a central angle of 53b20 ' 37" to the southwest corner of said Lot 5; thence southerly 67 00 feet to the point of beginning Parcel 2 - The westerly 20 feet of Lot 8, Block 5, Lugonia Heights , as per map recorded in Book 8, page 12 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City Council for vacation of the street and alleys described in Section 2, the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the perma- nent easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to con- struct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires , poles and other convenient structures, equip- ment and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines , telegraphic and telephone lines, railroad lines, and for the distribution or transpor- tation of electric energy, petroleum, and its products, ammonia, water and incidental purposes , including access and right to keep property free from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the street pro- posed to be vacated SECTION FOUR The City Council hereby determines that the vaca- tion of the street and alleys described herein is required by public interest, convenience, safety and welfare.
