A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT- _:w
PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS ARE UNNECESSARY FOR CV;;T Y .^l CORDER
PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING
THE VACATION OF PORTIONS OF SAID STREETS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows-
SECTION ONE. The City Council of the City of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chap- b
ter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds
from all evidence submitted that the streets described in this reso-
lution are unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that
the public interest and convenience require the closing cif said
streets
SECTION TWO. The City Council hereby orders the vacation of
portions of streets described as follows:
Legal Description for Vacating Portions of Shepherd Street and
Henrietta Street
Parcel 1 - That portion of "Proposed Street for Unit + 2" in the
City of Redlands , County of San Bernardino, State of California,
as shown on Tract No 4057, Winter View Heights, recorded in
Book 52 of Maps, Page 9, records of said County, lying South-
westerly of the Southwesterly line of Henrietta Street as shown
on plat of Smith ' s Subdivision No 3, recorded in Book 12 of
Maps, Page 33, records of said County
Parcel 2 - That portion of Henrietta Street as shown on plat of
Smith ' s Subdivision No 3, recorded in Book 12 of Maps, Page
33, records of said County, and on plat of Smith' s Subdivision
No. 5, recorded in Book 15 of Maps, Page 35, records of said
County, described as follows. BEGINNING at the intersection
of the Northerly line of Henrietta Street, 60 feet wide, with
the centerline of Shepherd Street, 30 feet wide, as shown on
Record of Survey recorded in Book 15 of Records of Survey,
Page 26, records of said County; thence South 83°47 ' 55" East
along said Northerly line of Henrietta Street 28. 77 feet to
the beginning of a non-tangent curve, concave Southeasterly,
having a radius of 70. 00 feet, a radial line to said point
bears North 24°48 ' 08" West; thence Southwesterly along said
curve an arc distance of 29 05 feet through a central angle
of 23°46 ' 52" to a point on said centerline of Shepherd Street;
thence North 15°03 ' 20" West 21. 07 feet to the point of begin-
ning

Parcel 3 - That portion of Shepherd Street as shown on plat
of Smith ' s Subdivision No. 2, recorded in Book 9 of Maps ,
Page 42, records of said County, lying between the Southeast-
erly line of Ridge Street (formerly Doolittle Street) , as
shown on said Maps, and the Northerly and Westerly lines of
Henrietta Street as shown on Record of Survey recorded in
Book 15 of Records of Survey, Page 26, records of said County.
SECTION THREE In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for vacation of the streets described in Section 2, the City
of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vacation the permanent
easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct,
maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary sewers and
storm drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across
any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant to CT;
any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge
lines of pipe, conduits , cables, wires, poles and other convenient
structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe
lines, telegraphic and telephone lines, railroad lines, and for the
distribution or transportation of electric energy, petroleum, and
its products, ammonia, water and incidental purposes, including
access and right to keep property free from inflammable materials,
and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same from all hazards
in, upon, and over the street proposed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR- The City Council hereby determines that the
vacation of the streets described herein is required by public in-
terest, convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED the 17th day of June, 1969.
