RESOLUTION NO. 3504
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT PORTIONS OF
CERTAIN STREETS ARE UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET
PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATIONS OF SAID PORTIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows :
SECTION ONE The City Council of City of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chap-
ter 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds
from all evidence submitted that portions of certain streets des-
scribed in this resolution are unnecessary for present or prospective
street purposes and that the public interest and convenience require
the closing of said portions of certain streets.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the vacations of
portions of Lincoln Street, Redlands Street, and Highland Avenue
described as follows :

A portion of street right-of-way at the intersection of Lincoln
Street, Redlands Street, and Highland Avenue, as shown on map of
East Redlands recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 47, records of San
Bernardino County, State of California, described as follows .
Commencing at the intersection of the centerline of Kenwood Drive
and the northeasterly boundary of Tract 8786 as shown on last said
tract recorded in Book 130 of Maps, Pages 40 and 41, records of
said County; thence South 62°54 '08" East along said boundary 496.17
feet; thence North 89°45 '45" East 1.57 feet to a 1" iron pipe as
shown on said Tract 8786, said pipe being the point of beginning of
the herein described parcel; thence North 56° 22 ' 36" East 180. 94
feet to the intersection with a line parallel with and 32.00 feet
West (measured at right angles of the centerline of Lincoln Street) ;
thence along last said line South 00°27 ' 59" East 47.84 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve concave northwesterly having a radius
of 13 .00 feet; thence southwesterly along said curve through a
central angle of 84° 53 ' 35", a length of 19. 26 feet to the point of
beginning of a tangent curve concave southeasterly having a radius
of 293 .00 feet, a radial to said point bears South 05°34 ' 24" East;
thence southwesterly along last said curve through a central angle
of 28°03 ' 00" a length of 143 .44 feet to the most easterly corner
of said Tract 8786, thence North 33°37 '06" West 10.00 feet to the
point of beginning.

SECTION THREE. In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for the vacations of portions of certain streets described
in Section Two, the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the
vacations the permanent easement and right at any time, or from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and
renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures,
in, upon, over and across any street or part thereof proposed to
be vacated and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals
thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace,
remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for
the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
railroad lines, and for the distribution and transportation of
electric energy, petroleum and its products, ammonia, water and
incidental purposes, including access and right to keep property
free from inflammable materials and wood growth, and to otherwise
protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the portions
of the streets proposed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR. The City Council hereby determines that the
vacations of portions of the streets described herein are required
by public interest, convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1978.
