RESOLUTION NO. 3460
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT PORTIONS OF A
CERTAIN STREET ARE UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET
PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID PORTION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows :
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3 , Chap-
ter 2, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds
from all evidence submitted that portions of a certain street des-
cribed in this resolution are unnecessary for present or prospective
street purposes and that the public interest and convenience require
the closing of said portions of a certain street.
SECTION TWO : The City Council hereby orders the vacation of a
portion of New York Street described as follows :
Being a portion of the East half of the Northeast one-
quarter of Block 25 of the Barton Ranch, in the City of $4
Redlands, as per plat recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page
19, records of San Bernardino County, State of California, CD
described as follows . /144
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of New
York Street with the centerline of State Street as shown
on a map of Tract No. 9455 as recorded in Map Book 138,
Pages 7 and 8, Records of San Bernardino County, Califor-
nia, thence along the centerline of New York Street S 0°
43 '15" E 50 .35 feet, thence S 89°l6 '45" W 32.00 feet to
the True Point of Beginning, thence S 0°43 ' 15" E 609.34
feet, thence S 89°49 ' 55" W 8.00 feet; thence N 0°43 ' 15"
W 620.02 feet, thence S 89°51 ' 33" W 14.46 feet to a point
on a non-tangent curve concave Southeasterly and having
a radius of 188.00 feet, a radial line through said point
bears S 16°54 ' 55" E; thence Northeasterly along said
curve through a central angle of 1°58 '43 " an arch length
of 6.49 feet to a point of reverse curvature on a curve
concave Southwesterly and having a radius of 13 .00 feet,
a radial line through said point bears S 14°56 '12" E;
thence Southeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 104°12 ' 57" an arc length of 23 .65 feet to the
True Point of Beginning.
Said parcel contains an area of 0.114 acres.

SECTION THREE: In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for the vacation of portions of a certain street described
in Section Two, the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the
vacation the permanent easement and right at any time, or from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and
renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures,
in, upon, over and across any street or part thereof proposed to
be vacated and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals
thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace,
remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for
the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
railroad lines, and for the distribution or transportation of elec-
tric energy, petroleum and its products, ammonia, water and inci-
dental purposes, including access and right to keep property free
from inflammable materials and wood growth, and to otherwise protect
the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the portion of the
street proposed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the
vacation of portions of the street described herein is required
by public interest, convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 18 day of April, 1978.
