RESOLUTION NO 3413
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT PORTIONS OF A
CERTAIN STREET ARE UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET
PURPOSES AND ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID PORTIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows :
SECTION ONE- The City Council of the City of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chap-
ter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds
from all evidence submitted that portions of a certain street des-
cribed in this resolution are unnecessary for present or prospec-
tive purposes and that the public interest and convenience require
the closing of said portions of a certain street.
SECTION TWO : The City Council hereby orders the vacation of
portions of Sunset Drive described as follows :
COMMENCING at the centerline intersection of Sunset Drive
and Marjorie Crest, as shown by Tract No. 6997, OAK RIDGE
ESTATES NO. 3, as per plat recorded in Book 100 of Maps,
Pages 20 and 21, records of said County; thence curving
to the right from an initial tangent that bears North 56° ►
55 '00" West through a central angle of 6°25 '00" with a
radius of 200 .00 feet, an arc distance of 22 40 feet to
the point of tangency of a curve on the centerline of said
Sunset Drive, as shown by said Tract No 6997; thence at
right angles North 39°30 ' 00" East 27.00 feet to the TRUE
POINT OF BEGINNING, thence at right angles North 50°30 ' 00"
West 133 .74 feet to a tangent curve; thence curving to
the left with a radius of 287.73 feet through a central
angle of 8°09 ' 38", an arc distance of 40 98 feet to an
intersection with the northeasterly right of way line of
the aforesaid realignment of Sunset Drive; thence curving
to the right from an initial tangent that bears South
63°33 ' 17" East through a central angle of 8'11 '47" with
a radius of 603 .04 feet, an arc distance of 86 . 27 feet;
thence South 55°21 ' 30" East 114 52 feet to a point on the
east line of said Lot 1 of the map of SUNSET HEIGHTS ,
thence South 00°45 '41" East along the east line of said
Lot 1, 20 90 feet, thence curving to the right from an
initial tangent that bears North 63°15 '01" West through a
central angle of 12°45 '01" with a radius of 173 .00 feet,
an arc distance of 38 50 feet to the point of beginning

SECTION THREE- In the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for the vacation of portions of a certain street described
in Section Two, the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the
vacation the permanent easement and right at any time, or from time
to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew
sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures, in,
upon, over and across any street or part thereof proposed to be
vacated and pursuant to any existing franchises or renewals thereof,
or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove,
renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and
other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for the opera-
tion of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines, railroad
lines, and for the distribution or transportation of electric energy,
petroleum and its products, ammonia, water and incidental purposes,
including access and right to keep property free from inflammable
materials and wood growth, and to otherwise protect the same from
all hazards in, upon, and over the portion of the street proposed
to be vacated
SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the
vacation of portions of the street described herein is required
by public interest, convenience, safety and welfare
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of November, 1977.
