RESOLUTION NO. 3305
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FINDING THAT PORTIONS OF A CERTAIN
STREET ARE UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES AND
ORDERING THE VACATION OF SAID PORTIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS hereby ordains and
resolves as follows: y
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City.of Redlands, having
elected to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3, Chapter
2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the S ate of" California, and
having held a public hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all
evidence submitted that portion:, of a certain street described in this
resolution are unnecessary for present or prospective purposes and that
the public interest and convenience require the closing of said por-
tions of a certain street.
SECTION TWO: The City Council hereby orders the vacation of por-
tions of Highland Avenue described as follows:
That portion of Highland Avenue of the Second Preliminary Map of
Redlands, Addition No. 1 as per Map recorded in Book 5 of Maps, Page
4 in the office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino,
State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot A of Tract No. 8059 as
recorded in Book 115, Pages 55 and 56 in said County and State; thence
N 56020'00"E, 133.46 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
northwesterly and having a radius of 13.00 feet; thence easterly and
northerly along last said curve through a central angle of 57012'12"
an arc distance of 12.98 feet to a point of tangency, with the West
.right-of-way line of Judson Street; thence S 0°17'25"E, 88.05 feet to
the beginning of a'tangent curve concave northwesterly and having a
radius of 13.00 feet; thence southerly and westerly along last said
curve through a central angle of 84°44'57" an arc distance of 19.23
feet to a point in a curve concave southerly and having a radius of
558.46 feet, a radial at last said point bears N 5°32'28"W; thence
southwesterly along last said curve through a central angle of
10°04'45" an arc distance of 98,24 feet to a point on a curve, a radial.
at last said point bears N 15°37'13"W; thence N 15°00'00"W, 35.27 feet
to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION THREE: in the proceeding herein adopted by this City
Council for the vacation of portions of a certain street described in
Section Two, the City of Redlands reserves and excepts from the vaca-
tion the permanent easement and right at any time, or from time to time,
to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew sanitary
sewers and storm drains and appurtenant structures, in, upon, over and
across any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant
to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to

construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines
of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other convenient structures,
equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic
and telephone lines, railroad lines, and for the distribution or trans-
portation of electric energy, petroleum, and its products, ammonia,
water and incidental purposes, including access and right to keep prop-
erty free from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and to otherwise
protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the portion of the
street proposed to be vacated.
SECTION FOUR: The City Council hereby determines that the vacation
of portions of the street described herein is required by public interest,
convenience, safety and welfare.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 7th day of December, 1976.
