RESOURCE NO. SS WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historical and scenic properties; and WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has held a duly advertised public hearing to consider designating the following as an historic property: Montgomery House 159 West Palm Avenue Redlands, California WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has nominated the above -mentioned property as a historic property in accordance with procedures established in Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a duly advertised public hearing to consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT'ZESOI.:'ED by the City Council of the '' «y � n a� ,Ct Cit of Redlari s as follows: 1. The following property is hereby designated as an historical property: Montgomery House 159 West Palm Avenue Redlands, California LEGAL DESCRIPTION: That portion of Lot S, Block "K", according to Addition No. 7 of second preliminary snap of Redlands, as per plat recorded in Book 5 of maps, Page 8, records of said County, described as follows: 94--957309 BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of said Lot 8, said corner lies on the Southerly line of 100 foot wide Palm Avenue; thence South 33 ° 31' East, 191.62 feet along the Southwesterly line of said Lot 8; thence north 56' 21' East, more or less, to an angle point in the land described in the Deed to Nelson Gardner, et ux., recorded May 5, 1961, in Book 5422, page 301, Official Records; thence North 33 ° 39' West 191.62 feet along the boundary line of said Gardner land to the Northwesterly line of said Lot 8; thence South 56' 21' West along the Northwesterly line of said Lot 8 to the point of beginning. EXCEPTING THEREFROM the Northeasterly 16 feet; said Northeasterly 16 feet being measured along the Southerly line of Palm Avenue. 2. This historical property shall not be altered on the exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed on the exterior until a Certificate of Appropriateness has been secured. 3. All provisions of Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code and any amendments thereto, are in effect now and in the perpetual future. 4. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 18th day of January, 1994.
