HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_8-1954I 2 3 4 5 6 7 6 9 10 2.1 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 AGREWNT THIS AGREF11ENT, made and entered into this 1st day of July, 1954, by and between the COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a body corporate and politic of the State of California, hereinafter re- ferred to as COUNTY, and the CITY OF REDLANDS, a municipal corpora- tion, hereinafter referred to as CITY, WITNESSETH: RECITALS 1. It is mutually understood and agreed that both parties are desirous of securing uniform enforcement of all laws and ordin- ances pertaining to the public health and sanitation within the incorporated area of the City of Redlands and the unincorporated area immediately adjacent thereto and that the Health Department of the County of San Bernardino is equipped to render such service. AGREMENTS Pursuant to the foregoing recitals it is hereby mutually agreed: 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Division 1, Part 2, Chapter 1, Article 2A of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California, County agrees to perform by and through the County Health Officer and other employees of the County, all functions relating to the enforcement in the City of Redlands of All ordi-�- nances thereof relating to public health and sanitation, except ordinances pertaining to the control of rabies, and the making of all inspections and the performance of all functions in connection therewith, and City agrees to accept such services and to pay for the same as hereinafter provided. 2. That during the time this contract shall remain in effect the County Health Officer and his deputies shall exercise the same powers and duties in the City of Redlands as are conf upon health officers thereof by law. 4. That while engaged in the performance of their duties and functions pursuant to this Agreement, the County Health Officer his deputies and employees shall be deemed to be County officers and employees and not City officers and employees of the City of Redlands. 5. That for the performance of the services and functions herein provided for City agrees to pay to County the total sum of %V2,500.00, payable 41,250.00 on December 15th, 1954, and $1,250.00 on dune lst, 1955, and that said compensation is deemed to be suf- ficient in amount to repay the County for the entire cost to it of the services to be performed for City and required in the enforce- ment of ordinances of the City of Redlands under the terms hereof. View Ave. You have been given public health protection services by the County Health Depart- ment during the present fiscal year. As the beginning of the new fiscal year approaches, we must plan the distrib€tion of our personnel, and services for the next helve months, These services include the regular inspection and supervision of restaurants and other food -handling establishments, investigation of nuisances, dairy and milk sanitation, including sampling and analysis, and liason functions between the city and other agencies having an official interest in these environmental problems and others such as sewage disposal, water purification' rubbish disposal, and the hygiene of housing. Equally valuable services are given by the Department's -eublic Health purses in discovering health problems and counseling parents concerning their solution.. Assisting with this work in the schools and in the Child Health Conferences are the Departanent o s doctors. The Laboratory continues to examine milk and dairy and public water samples as well as specimens from doctors whose; patients are your citizens. The servi.des of our specialists in Health Education, Social. Disease, Tuberculosis and other Communicable Disease Control, Animal Disease Control, including rabies, and the diagnosis and treatment of handicapping conditions in children have been made available as needed. Your City's Officials have been most cooperative and it has been a pleasure to work with them.
