PREPARE STREET IMPROVEMENT PLANS FOR LUGONIA AVENUE NEIGHBORHOOD
INITIATIVE PROGRAM
This Agreement is made and entered into this second dayof December2003,byandbetween
the City of Redlands,amunicipal corporation("City"),and Hicks and Hartwick,Inc.("Consultant").
In consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, City and Consultant agree to the
following amendments to the Agreement to Furnish Consulting Services dated March 18, 2003
(hereinafter the "Agreement"):
Section 1. In addition to those services listed in Exhibit "A" to the Agreement, Consultant
shall provide additional services as listed in Appendix I (November 70, 2003 letter from Lawrence
S. Eisenhart).
Section 2. In addition to the compensation payable to Consultant in Section 5.1 of the
Agreement, Consultant shall be paid the additional sum of 55,000.00 for the additional services
described in Section 1, above. The total compensation now payable to Consultant pursuant to the
Agreement is $17,000.00,
2004. Section 3. Consultant's Services under the Agreement shall now be completed by March 15,
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,duly authorized representatives ofthe parties have signed in confirmation
of this First Amendment to Agreement.

RE: Traffic Signals at the Intersection of Lugonia Avenue(State Route 38)and Orange Street
Dear Mr. Hicks:
You sent a copy of the street improvement plan for the intersection of Lugonia Avenue(State
Route 3 8)and Orange Street prepared by your firm.
The proposed widening of Lugonia Avenue east of Orange Street will require the
modification of the existing traffic signal system.
In this regard I offer the following proposal to provide the required traffic signal modification
plan.
SCOPE OF&UMCF•
1. 1 will provide the design of the traffic signal modification in ink on a standard mylar City
of Redlands plan blank at a scale of V=20'.
2. 1 will provide a set of special provisions (technical specifications for the traffic signal
construction. These will be provided in a format using Word Perfect software to be included
with the bid documents.
3. 1 will provide reproducible of the plan for your firm to include with your improvement plans
to be submitted to CALTRANS for encroachment permit and the city for plan check.

4. After the plan and special provisions have been approved by the city and CALTRANS I will
furnish a diskette of the plan to the city for record.
COST F(lR SERVICES
For the above services I shall be reimbursed the lump sum fee of$5,000,00.
Payment for services shall be 80%when the plan and special provisions are furnished to the
city for first plan check and submitted to CALTRANS for permit review. The remaining 20%shall
be paid after the plan and special provisions are through plan check and a final mylar is prepared and
furnished to the city for the City Engineer's signature.
The above fee includes automobile mileage,telephone charges,printing of plans and special
provisions and other incidentals included in the plan check process, but does not include fees or
charges imposes[by agencies,utility companies or their entities,and costs involved in the bidding
process and construction management.
COST FOR COMP FTION
I will complete the plan and special provisions and fiunish reproducibles to your firm for first
plan check and CALTRANS permit review within 20 calendar days after I receive approval of this
proposal.
