A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING 330 NORTH THIRD STREET AS A HISTORIC PROPERTY
(HISTORIC RESOURCE DESIGNATION NO 132)
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations
governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties, and
WHEREAS, the property owner has applied for and requested designation of 330 North Third
Street, an eligible and contnbutmg structure located within the Santa Fe depot National Histonc District,
as an historic property, and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission held a duly noticed public hearing
on March 1, 2018, to consider the nomination and designation of 330 North Third Street (APNs 0169-
281-47-0000, 0169-281-48-0000, 0169-281-49-0000, 0169-281-50-0000) as a historic property, and
WHEREAS, on March 1, 2018, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission nominated
330 North Third Street as a historic property in accordance with procedures estabhshed in Chapter 2 62
of the Redlands Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 2018, the City Clerk caused a public notice to be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City, and
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, the City Council of the City of Redlands held a duly noticed public
hearing to consider the recommendation of the Historic & Scenic Preservation Commission
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 The subject property at 330 North Third Street (APNs 0169-281-47-0000, 0169-
281-48-0000, 0169-281-49-0000, 0169-281-50-0000) is hereby designated as a historic property, in
accordance with the provisions and criteria contamed in Section 2 62 170 of the Redlands Municipal
Code The subject property contains a single -story industrial building originally utilized as a citrus
packing plant, with an original construction date of 1894, minor additions m 1900 and 1906, and remodel
in 1930 The structure embodies elements of architectural design, detail, materials, or craftsmanship that
represent a significant architectural structure and style, and contributes to the historical or scenic heritage
and historical or scenic properties of the city
Section 2 The former citrus packing plant at 330 North Third Street shall be officially
known as the "Mutual Orange Company Packmg House "
Section 3 Neither the structures on the property nor the property shall be altered on the
exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed, unless a Certificate of
Appropriateness or Certificate of Hardship has been first obtained from the City of Redlands

Section 4. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of this Historic Resource
Designation and project is exempt from environmental review m accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to Section 15331 (Historical Resource
Restoration/Rehabilitation) and Section 15332 (In -Fill Development Projects) of the State CEQA
Guidelines
Section 5 The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to cause a certified copy
of this Resolution to be recorded upon the 330 North Third Street properties (APNs 0169-0281-47-
0000, 0169-281-48-0000, 0169-281-49-0000, 0169-281-50-0000) with the County Recorder, County of
San Bernardino
