Uith reference to previous correspondence concerning
proposed installation of automatic gates at Grove Street,
Crossing DP-549.2 in the City of aedlands:
Attached are duplicate counterparts of a proposed
agreement with the City covering the subject construction.
Please arrange for execution on behalf of City and thereafter
return both documents to my office for further attention.
Please note that signatures of the officials exe-
cuting the document are to be acknowledged and a certified
copy of the resolution, passed by the governing body, authorizing
execution and acceptance of same, should be attached to each
counterpart.
Upon final execution on behalf of our company, a
fully executed counterpart will be returned to you for your
records.
Also attached for your use are four copies of our
summary of estimated' cost covering this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS CONCERNING
AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the intersection of Grove Street with the
Southern Pacific Company, known as Crossing No. BP-549.2, con-
stitutes a hazard to the motoring public and the railway com-
pany; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands desires to minimize this
hazard; and
WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Company has offered to
install crossing protection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands does
hereby approve the agreement between the Southern Pacific Com-
pany and the City of Redlands, specifically the protection to
be provided and the cost apportionment for this installation,
and
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to sign this agreement on behalf of the City Council.

AGREEMENT:
NOW, , It is mutually agreed as Bellows:
at said crossing. Said signals shall be located as indicated in red
on the print of Railroad's Los Angeles Division Drawing A-6315, Sheet
o. l of 1, dated May 1.1., 1966, attached and made a part hereof.
Said signal shall be interconnected with a similar signal to be
Enstalled at the said crossing by The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railway Company. Such installation sball include the removal of an
