HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_17-1967THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this Ist day of July , 1967, by and between the CITY OF REDLE"NDS, hereinafter called 1°Cityt1, and the REDLANDS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, hereinafter called 44Schoo3s". WHEREAS, the ®rer�nin� bodies of the: City and School,: have jurisdiction over some of the same territory, and that the territory over which they do not have: the same juriz;dictionn is contiguous, and WHEREAS, said governing bodies agree that community recreation is necessary for the pzrpose of the development resat of ;clod citizenship and pro. -noting and preserving the health and general welfare of the people of the territory over which they have jurisdiction, NOW '. HEREF-0RM, it is hereby agreed between the parties here- tc, as ;follows, to wit: 1. There is hereby created a beady consisting of five: members to be known as the Redlands Recreation Commis- siosn. a. Members of this Recreation Commission shall be residents of the City of Redlands, or the area served by said commission, and they shall serve without compensation. b. The membership of the Recreation Commission shall be appointed in the following manner: 1. The Redlands Unified School Board shall name two (2) of its members to represent said public authority. 2. The City Council of Redlands shall name two (2) of its members to represent said public authority. 3. The four (4) members aforementioned shall appoint one (1) additional member (member at large) to they Recreation when shall not be an employee, or an appointed or elective official of either City or Schools. c. Each member of the Commission shall serve for a three-year term, or until a successor is appointed, when the terms of the first commission have expired. 1.
