HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_165-2005_CCv0001.pdf FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT TO FURNISH CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN OF REDLANDS BOULEVARD AT ALABAMA STREET AND COLTON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT This First Amendment to Agreement ("First Amendment") is made and entered into this 6"' day of September, 2005, by and between the City of Redlands, a municipal corporation ("City") and Parsons Brinekerhoff Quade& Douglas, Inc. ("Consultant"). In consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, City and Consultant agree to the following amendments to the Agreement to Furnish Consulting Services dated October 19, 2004 (hereinafter the "Agreement"): Section 1. Section 5.1 is hereby amended to read as follows: "5.1 The total compensation for Consultant's performance of the Services shall not exceed the amount of$671,225.00. City shall pay Consultant on a time and materials basis up to such amount, in accordance with Exhibit `C' entitled `Service Fee,' and based upon the hourly rates shown in Exhibit `D,' entitled `Rate Schedule.' Section 2. Exhibit "A" to the Agreement is hereby amended to include a new paragraph D which shall read as follows: "D. Waterline Replacement and Reclaimed Waterline Design of waterline replacement in Redlands Boulevard and Colton Avenue shall extend from the easterly limits of the realigned Colton Avenue, westerly to Redlands Boulevard and westerly in Redlands Boulevard to Alabama Street. The reclaimed waterline in Alabama Street shall extend from Industrial Park Avenue southerly to Redlands Boulevard. All plans shall be prepared utilizing AutoCAD 2002. Mylar originals and a digital file shall be provided to the City. The following is a list of tasks: 1. Prepare an alignment exhibit for the proposed waterline and reclaimed waterline. The exhibit shall indicate existing topography, utilities, right-of-way and the proposed street and right-of-way alignments along with the proposed horizontal alignments for both waterlines. 2. Prepare 1"=40' scale plan and profile sheets for the Redlands Boulevard/Colton Avenue waterline utilizing the City's standard base sheets. All required details shall be drawn at an enlarged scale for clarity. Plans shall include existing and proposed locations of laterals, fire hydrants and tie-ins. 3. Prepare 1"=40' scale plan view only for the reclaimed waterline in Alabama Street utilizing the City standard base sheets. All required details shall be drawn at an enlarged scale for clarity. Plans shall include existing and proposed locations of laterals, fire hydrants and tie-ins. 4. Prepare Specifications and Cost Estimate for both waterlines utilizing the City's boiler plate specifications. 5. Process and procure the entry/encroachment permit(s) for both railroad waterline crossings. Notwithstanding any of the provisions of this First Amendment, Consultant shall continue to be obligated to perform all of the Services described in Exhibit "A" to the Agree=ment."
