HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_18-1968ANNUAL AGREEMENT AS TO RESPONSIBILITIES BETWEEN THE RECREATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AND BASEBALL FOR BOYS This agreement made and entered into this day of J uIv 19 ('? between the Redlands Recreation Commission, herein called Commission, and the Redlands Baseball for Boys Organization, herein called Baseball for Boys, is for a period of one year beginning January 1, 19 61� and ending December 31, 19 (.7 . The purpose of this agreement is to delineate the responsibilities of the Commission and of Baseball for Boys in the cooperative operation of the base- ball program for the Redlands area, to wit: The Commission will be responsible for: 1. Assignment of fields. 2. Maintenance and improvement of practice and community fields. 3. Hiring of the Umpire in Chief and regulation of his duties in cooperation with Baseball for Boys. 4. Providing of adequate police supervision for games as necessary. 5. The payment of half the umpires' fees. Baseball for Boys will be responsible for: 1. Setting up an all-emcompassing recreational baseball for boys program within the boundaries of Redlands Recreation Commission. 2. Concession Stand, including concessionaire, operation, operating hours and prices. Concession stand revenue will be used in the following manner. a. An amount not to exceed $300.00 annually will be deposited in a Baseball for Boys Bank Account. This money is to be used for miscellaneous expenditures in connection with the Baseball for Boys program. An itemized statement as to the use of these funds will be submitted annually to the Recreation Commission, and the account will be subject to audit. b. The balance. of said revenue is to be deposited into a "non - revenue" account with the Treasurer of the City of Redlands, which account is to be restricted for use only of the Baseball for Boys Program and/or improvements to Community Field. Expenditure of said money will be by mutual agreement between Recreation Commission and Baseball for Boys Committee. At the close of each year, any surplus in this account will be trans- ferred into a restricted reserve account for use of Baseball for Boys program and/or improvement to Community Field. 3. Establishing clinics in cooperation with Recreation Commission. 4. Rules and Regulations governing the playing of the game. S. Insurance for participants of a standard recommended by Redlands Insurance Agents Association with a certificate of coverage to be furnished. to Recreation Commission. 6. Appointment of managers and coaches. 7. Scheduling of practices and games. 8. Equipping of participants. 9. Decisions on local play-offs. 10. Payment by service organizations of half of umpires' fees, Lost ball fees, and payment of score keepers. This agreement may be amended by mutual agreement of the parties affixing their signatures and is subject to annual review and renewal..
