5 1971, by and between the City of Redlands , California, a mt4icipal
6 corporation, hereinafter called "City" , and Roy V. Shutt of
7 Calimesa, California, called "Contractor" .
8 WITNESSETH
9 The parties hereto for the term of one (1) year com-
10 mencing on the 1st day of January, 1971, and ending on the 31st
11 day of December, 1971, do hereby agree as follows .
12 That the City in consideration of the covenants on the
13 part of the Contractor herein contained, hereby agrees with the
14 said Contractor to allow and permit him to have an exclusive con--
15 tract for collection of approximately one (1) ton of garbage per
16 day, six (6) days a week from restaurants, hotels , markets,
17 schools and hospitals within said City of Redlands under the super-
18 vision of the City Disposal Superintendent, said Contractor to use
19 his own equipment and employees in collection of said garbage.
20 That the Contractor in consideration of the said
21 covenants on the part of the City, agrees to and with the City,
22 to collect approximately one (1) ton of garbage a day from
23 restaurants , hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within said
24 City, six (6) days per week, with his own equipment and employees
25 under the direction of the Disposal Superintendent as above set
26 forth, and that said Contractor will pay to the City, or its
27 order, the sum of One Dollar ($1 00) per year, payable in advance
28 That it is mutually agreed that this contract may be
29 cancelled and abrogated by either party upon service of a thirty
30 (30) day notice in writing of its intention to cancel said con-
31 tract.
32 That the Contractor shall exercise this contract subject
1 to the supervision and direction. of Lhe City Disposal Superinten-
2 dent and shall follow no practices or methods for the removal or
3 collection of garbage expressly prohibited by said Superintendent.
4 That the Contractor, during the term hereof, shall have
5 issued and in force, certificates and policies of insurance suf-
6 ficient to protect the City in the amount of $100, 000. 00 for pub-
7 lic liability and $50, 000 . 00 for property damage, and Workmen ' s
8 Compensation Insurance. The City shall have the right to approve
9 the insurance carrier. The Contractor shall provide to the City
10 a certificate showing coverage in the amounts specified herein
11 and an agreement by the insurance carrier to give the City notice
12 ten days before cancellation of such insurance policies
13 It is mutually understood that the City will be diligent
14 in its efforts to prevent any other party during the term of this
15 contract from collecting green cuttings or garbage from restaurants,
16 hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within the City, provided
17 however, that the within contract is in full force and effect
18 Contractor agrees to post the sum of One Hundred Dollars
19 ($100.00) with the City, in lieu of a faithful performance bond,
20 and agrees to forfeit the same to the City should he fail to per-
21 form under the terms of the within contract in a good and workman-
22 like manner to the satisfaction of the City Disposal Superintendent.
23 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City of Redlands has caused its
24 corporate name to be subscribed by the City Manager and the city
25 Clerk and has caused its corporate seal to be attached, and the
26 said Roy V Shutt has hereunto placed his hand and seal

10 That the City in consideration of the covenants on the part
11 of the Contractor herein contained, hereby agrees with the said
Contractor to allow and permit him to have an exclusive contract for

collection of approximately one (1) ton of garbage per day, six (6) days

14 said City of Redlands under the supervision of the City Disposal

The Contractor shall provide to the City a certificate showing

3 insurance carrier to give the City notice ten days before cancellation
of such insurance policies.

CONTRACT
THIS AGREEMENT, made this 777: day of a7
1969, by and between the City of Redlands, California, a municipal
corporation, hereinafter called "City", and Roy V. Shutt of Calimesa,
California, called "Contractor".
WI TNE'SSETH-
The parties hereto for the term of one (1) year commencing
on the 1st day of January, 1969, and ending on the 31st day of
December, 1969, do hereby agree as follows-
That the City in consideration of the covenants on the part
of the Contractor herein contained, hereby agrees with the said
Contractor to allow and permit him to have an exclusive contract for
collection of approximately one (1) ton of garbage per day, six (6) days
a week from restaurants, hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within
said City of Redlands under the supervision of the City Disposal
Superintendent, said Contractor to use his own equipment and employees
in collection of said garbage.
That the Contractor in consideration of the said covenants
on the part of the City, agrees to and with the City, to collect

issued and in force, certificates and policies of insurance sufficient
to protect the City in the amount of 00,000.00 for public liability
and $10,000.00 for property damage, and Workmen's Compensation Insurance.
The City shall have the right to approve the insurance carrier.
The Contractor shall provide to the City a certificate showing
coverage in the amounts specified herein and an agreement by the

That the Contractor in consideration of" the said covenants
on the part of the City, agrees to and with the City, to collect
approximately one (1) ton of garbage a day from restaurants,
hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within said City, bix (6)
days per week, with his own equipment and employees under the
direction of the Disposal Superintendent as above set forth, and
that said Contractor will pay to the City, or its order, the sum
of One Dollar ($1.00) per year, payable in advance.
That it is mutually agreed that this contract may be can-
celled and abrogated by either party upon service of a thirty
(30) day notice in writing of its intention to cancel said contract.
That the Contractor shall exercise this contract subject

to the supervision and direction of the City Disposal Superinten-
dent and shall follow no practices or methods for the removal or
collection of garbage expressly prohibited by said Superintendent.
That the Contractor, during the term hereof, shall have
issued and in force, certificates and policies of insurance suffi-
cient to protect the City in the amount of $50, 000 .00 for public
liability and $10, 000 .00 for property damage, and Workmen ' s
Compensation Insurance. The City shall have the right to approve
the insurance carrier. The Contractor shall provide to the City
a certificate showing coverage in the amounts specified herein and
an agreement by the insurance carrier to give the City notice
ten days before cancellation of such insurance policies.
It is mutually understood that the City will be diligent
in its efforts to prevent any other party during the term of this
contract from collecting green cuttings or garbage from restaurants,
hotels, markets, schools and hospitals within the City, provided,
however, that the within contract is in full force and effect
Contractor agrees to post the sum of One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) with the City, in lieu of a faithful performance bond,
and agrees to forfeit the same to the City should ha fail to per-
form under the terms of the within contract in a good and workman-
like manner to the satisfaction of the City Disposal Superintendent.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City of Redlands has caused its
corporate name to be subscribed by the City Manager and the City
Clerk and has caused its corporate seal to be attached, and the
said Roy V. Shutt has hereunto placed his hand and seal.

hereinafter called "City", and Roy V. Shutt of Calimesa, California, called
"Contractor".
WLTNESSETH.
The parties hereto for the term of one (1) year commencing on the 1st
day of January , 1961, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1961,
do hereby agree as follows-
That the City in consideration of the covenants on the part of the Contractor
herein contained, hereby agrees with the said Contractor to allow and permit him
to have an exclusive contract for collection of approximately one (1) ton of
garbage per day, six (6) days a week from restaurants, hotels, markets, schools
and hospitals within said City of Redlands under the supervision of the City
Disposal Superintendent, said Contractor to use his own equipment and employees
in collection of said garbage.
That the Contractor in consideration of the said covenants on the part of
the City, agrees to and with the City, to collect approximately one (1) ton of
