It is hereby agreed by and between the County of San Bernardino
and the City of Redlands, California, as follows:
THAT for and in consideration of the City of Redlands providing
space for the San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs Office in
Rooms 3 and 4, 131 Cajon Street, Redlands, California, as listed
below in covenants of the City, the County of San Bernardino
agrees to reimburse the City of Redlands for one-half the estab-
lished rental costs of the office space furnished, plus the total
cost incurred of all telephone toll calls made by the Veterans
Affairs Office.
IT IS FURTHER mutually agreed between the City of Redlands and
the County of San Bernardino as follows:
(1) Covenants of the City of Redlands:
a. To furnish the office space described above.
b. To pay the rental for same, Enclosure 41, Rental
Agreement, establishes rate of rent. Any future in-
crease in rental rate established by Enclosure �l will
not be effective until agreed to in writing by County.
C. To provide all utilities (including telephone costs less
toll calls) and janitorial service, without cost to County.
d. To provide appropriate office furniture and air-
conditioning.
e. To bill County, monthly, for telephone toll calls and
proportion share of rent.
(2) Covenants of County of San Bernardino:
a. To reimburse City of Redlands, monthly, as billed, for
proportionate share of rent and total cost of telephone
toll calls.
(3) City of Redlands covenants to indemnify and save
harmless the County of San Bernardino for and against
any and all liability arising from injury during said
term to person or property, occasioned wholly or in part
by an act or omission of the City of Redlands, or of
the guests, servants, or assigns of the City of Redlands,
except for the activities of the Veterans Affairs Office
or its employees.
This agreement is effective from March 1, 1971, to June 30, 1972.
Upon expiration, it may renewed on an annual basis, under the
same terms and conditions by agreement of both parties.
Done at Redlands, California, this 160o day of March, 1971.

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
The Clerk advises the Board that the City of Redlands has requested
that an additional phrase be added to exempt Veterans Affairs Office
or its employees from the Hold Harmless clause of the Sharing Cost
Agreement with respect to the lease of the Veterans Affairs Office
approved by the Board- on April 12, 1971.

by Supervisor Smith, and carried, the Board of Supervisors -hereby
amends the Sharing Cost Agreement in connection with the lease of the
Veterans Affairs Office in the City of Redlands to include the following
phrase in the Hold Harmless clause; "Except for the activities of the
Veterans affairs Office or its employees".
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
San Bernardino, State of California, by the following vote:
