HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_26-1971L E T T E R O F A G R E E M E N T The Incorporated City of Redlands, California hereby makes application for funds to be allocated under Section 9 (a) (1) of the Emergency Employment Act of 1971, Public Law 92--54 and agrees to the designation as a subagent of the County of San Bernardino, hereafter known as the Program Agent. It is agreed that the funds requested herein will be used in order to provide unemployed and underemployed persons with transitional employment in jobs providing needed public services and, wherever feasible, related training and employment services, to enable such persons to move into employment and training not supported by the act.. The subagent agrees to commitments and assurances contained in Section 55.6 and the selection criteria contained in Section 55.7 of 29-CFR-SS. It is also agreed that the U. S. The Population and Labor Force The area served by the sub --agent is the geographical limits of the City of Redlands, California, which has a land area of 24 square miles and a population of 36,355. Area employment has decreased during the past twelve months causing a rise in unemployment to a current level of 5.9%. Compensation of Particinants The compensation to be paid for the Police Officer Trainees requested will be Steps "A" ($763 per month) and "B" ($801 per month), entrance and second steps for a permanent police officer. Fringe benefits will consist of payment by the City of all Workmen's Compensation Insurance premiums, the same as provided for all employees.
