HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_15-1973FORM 603201 (11 • 67) Telephone No. 7 92 -98pg PUBLIC TELEPHONE CONTRACT - NONCOMMISSION It is agreed between City of Redlands , hereinafter referred to as "Lessor" and the GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, hereinafter referred to as "Lessee," that: RubiicJelelahone Public telephone and company 1. Lessor hereby permits Lessee to install and maintain booth Pubii�--telephez�:e—���-gri�ate on premises premises located at _ 30 Caj©n Streets Redlanc-s, California , California, commencing upon the date hereof and continuing until terminated by either party upon thirty days' written notice to the other party. 2. It is expressly agreed that the sole consideration for this contract is the furnishing by Lessee of a public telephone for theuse of the general public in return for the use of Lessor's premises for the installation of said public telephone. 3. Lessor warrants that said property is owned, leased or controlled by him and that he has the right to make this lease. 4. Public telephone instruments shall be accessible for the use of the public in making local and long distance calls. 5. The equipment furnished hereunder shall be carefully used in accordance with the rules of the Lessee and shall not be connected with any instrument or apparatus other than the line wires as installed by the Lessee, nor used in performing any other service in competition with service which the Lessee may undertake to perform. 6. Lessee shall have the right to install and maintain a burglar alarm on Lessor's structure as a precautionary measure for the protection of Lessee's property. 7. Employees and representatives of the Lessee shall have the right of ingress to and egress from said premises at all reasonable hours for the purpose of collecting, inspecting, repairing or removing line instruments or other equipment. 8. Lessor agrees to keep the premises in the vicinity of the public telephone in a clean and sanitary condition. If the public telephone is located in a booth the Lessor agrees to: (a) Provide, at his own expense, uninterrupted 24-hour electric current, and to illuminate the booth interior and sign lighting when needed. (b) Arrange for, and bear the cost of connecting such current to the booth as required, said wiring to be in accordance with all building regulations and/or codes within the City and/or County. (c) Keep windows, walls, floor and exterior of booth clean. (d) Keep booth and instrument free from all advertising stickers, posters, foreign matter and attachments, and to do all in his power to prevent the public from defacing by any method said booth and instrument. 9. Lessee shall have the right to display in a prominent location such public telephone signs, together with sign posts and/or fixtures, as may be required to indicate the location of the public telephone. 10. This contract shall at all times be subject to such changes or modifications by the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California as such Commission may from time to time direct in the exercise of its jurisdiction.
