HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_39-1973CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR STAFF SERVICES This agreement is entered into this 4th day of December , 1973, by and between the City of Redlands, California, hereinafter referred to as the "City", and Magnus E. Mead, a private consultant, hereinafter referred to as "Mead". WHEREAS, Mead is a private consultant with substantial experience in the field of solid waste management, and WHEREAS, the City because of its many and varied activities in solid waste management has a continuing require- ment for on -call consultant services in this field, and, WHEREAS, Mead is desirous of offering the City con- sultant service in solid waste management, and WHEREAS, the City wishes to avail itself of Mead's consultant service, NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto mutually agree as follows: 1. Scope of Service: a. Mead agrees to provide advice and guidance to the City of Redlands in the field of solid waste management. Advice and guidance will be limited to conferring with city officials and employees designated by the City Manager. No manual or clerical type work will be provided by Mead. b. Mead shall be available for advice not to exceed a total of fifty-two (52) hours per calendar quarter. c. Transportation. Mead will be reimbursed at the customary city rates for the use of his privately owned vehicle on city business. Mead will provide, at his expense, evidence of automobile liability and property damage insurance coverage in amounts required of other city employees being reimbursed for use of their privately owned vehicle on city business. d. Other Expenses. Mead will be reimbursed by the City for any travel, meals, or lodging expense incurred while on city business outside of Redlands, as authorized by the City Manager. 2. Payment: The City will pay to Mead for consultant service as specified above, the sum of One Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($175.00) monthly. Payment will be made on the loth of the following month for consultant service rendered on the preceding month. Payment will be made by the City without the requirement of billing by the consultant. Requests for reimbursement for travel and mileage expenses will be made by the consultant on the authorized voucher forms. The City Manager is the approving authority for such reimbursement vouchers. 3. Term: This agreement commences on December 1 , 1973 4. Termination: This agreement may be terminated by either party giving the other thirty (30) days written notice of termination.
