HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_9-1978THIS AGREEMENT by and called "City'' and Yf. is dated this 10th CONSULTANT AGREEMENT between the City of Redlands, Virgil Barham, also referred day of March sometimes to as "Consultant" . 1978. For and in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein, City agrees as follows: 1. To engage the consultant under contract with the City as Construction Inspector to perform services related to the construction of Public Works :Facilities such as utilities, parking lots, area Lighting, landscaping, irrigation, paving, curbs v! gutters and sidewalks. Tasks shall involve coordina- tion of several contractors activities working in the area simultaneously, plan interpretation, inspection of placement of all materials, observation of required tests of materials used on the job and approval of test results, inspection of the installation of all utility systems and equipment, and the observation and approval of testing and demonstration of all such systems. Consultant shall also be -responsible to the City to assure that all materials and equipment included in the work meet the minimum requirements established in the specifications and further, to represent the City in all determinations where "or equal` items or materials are submitted for approval. 2. To compensate consultant for such services at the rate of $8.91 per hour, payable on 1,ednesday of every other week. It is anticipated that work load may vary, consultant agrees to work the hours required to accomplish the contracted services. For and in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein, the consultant agrees as follows: I. To diligently and promptly perform services as Construction Inspector under the general supervision of the City Director of Public Works. 2. To be compensated for such services as enumerated above. 3. To perform said services during each normal work week or other reasonable hours. The parties hereto agree that employment will begin on March 20, 1978 and may be terminated by either party upon giving thirty (30) days notice, in writing, or any time by mutual agreement of the parties in writing. In any case, the contracts shall terminate June 30, 1978. f J.. A e c Pu l� c ','for cs Daxecter !rixgil ax NEW BUSINESS (Continued) Resolution No. 3454, a resolution of the City Council Resolution joining with other cities in supporting the City of No. 3454 Montclair and the Board of Supervisors of San Bernar- Tunnel, dino County in connection with the construction of a Archibald tunnel for Archibald Avenue, as part of the expansion Avenue of Ontario International Airport, was unanimously approved on motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman Miller. CITY MANAGER On motion of Councilman Elliott, seconded by Councilman Miller, unanimous approval was given to acceptance of Dedication dedication of property required for the construction of of traffic signals at the intersection of Redlands Property Boulevard and Alabama Street and the realignment and construction of new curb and gutter on Alabama, from Julia L. Liess and Merle C. Liess. A Grant Deed to the City from Claude N. Williams and Helen I. Williams and a Grant Deed from Felipe Roque Grant Deeds and Vicenta Roque in connection with the development of Tract No. 10065, were unanimously accepted by the City Council on motion of Councilwoman MacFarland, seconded by Councilman Elliott. In a consultant agreement between the City and Virgil 'Consultant Barham, Engineer, for contractural work with the City 1,/ Agreement as construction inspector was unanimously approved on motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman Miller. On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Council - Outside woman MacFarland, unanimous approval was given to de - Water livering outside -the -City water service to Father Service Peter's Community Schools on Mentone Boulevard, across from 2279 Mentone Boulevard. Mr. Mitchell introduced Miss Betty Ritchli, who will be serving as a full-time attorney -trainee. Mr. Mitchell announced that the staff is conducting Proposition study sessions to develop recommendations for presen- 13 tation to the Council of a contingency economy plan to cope with the impact of the Jarvis Bill (Proposition 13) if it is adopted by the voters at the June 6 elec- tion.
