AGREEMENT
This agreement is by and between the City of San Bernardino, hereinafter
referred to as "San Bernardino;"' the City of Rialto, hereinafter referred
to as "Rialto;" the City of Colton, hereinafter referred to as "Colton;"
the. City of Loma Linda, hereinafter referred to as "Loma Linda;" the
Central Valley Fire Protection District, a San Bernardino County Service
District, hereinafter referred to as "Central Valley;" and the City of
Redlands, hereinafter referred to as "Redlands."
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, it is to the mutual advantage of San Bernardino, Rialto, Colton,
Loma Linda, Central Valley and Redlands to jointly purchase and maintain
certain specialized equipment needed for efficient operation of their
respective fire departments, and
WHEREAS, it.would not be economical for any individual: city or fire dis-
trict to purchase and maintain certain specialized fire equipment, and
WHEREAS, it is vital to the protection of life and property from fire
that certain specialized equipment be available for emergency use twenty-
four (24) hours a day.
NOW THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
1. it is the desire of San Bernardino, Rialto, Colton, -Loma Linda,
Central Valley, and Redlands to purchase and maintain a "high
pressure air compressor" at a cost of $25,000; said equipment
to be used by those fire departments entering into this agree-
ment.
2. It is the desire of San Bernardino, Rialto, Colton, Loma Linda,
Central Valley and Redlands to mount this high pressure air com-
pressor on a 1964 Seagrave High Lift Platform Chassis, equipment
No. A-50, owned by San Bernardino; along with various other
specialized equipment such as, but not limited to, spare air
bottles, electrical generator, electric lights and tools.
3. The original cost of the high pressure air compressor, the vehicle
upon which it is to be mounted, and installation costs shall be
prorated in the following manner:

$5,000 Each.
All purchases shall be initiated by the City of San Bernardino
Purchasing Department, according to prescribed policy, who will
then bill other participants according to the above schedule.
4. A sum in the amount of $1,000 shall be established for the purpose
of first year maintenance of said high pressure air compressor and
Seagrave vehicle, said sum to be in addition to the purchase and
installation costs and to be prorated according to the number of fire
calls, in the following manner:

5. The amount of maintenance costs for each succeeding year will be
prorated in the above manner no later than February lst of each
calendar year for the following fiscal year by a committee of
chiefs of the participating fire departments.
b. The maintenance of the vehicle and high pressure air compressor
will be performed by the San Bernardino Fire Department who will
bill the other participants -for their prorated share.
T. The vehicle and high pressure air compressor will be housed in
San Bernardino when not in use and will be operated by personnel
assigned to the San Bernardino City Fire Department or by such
others as may be designated by a committee of chiefs of the par-
ticipating fire departments.
8. The vehicle and high pressure air compressor will be available
to participants on a daily basis for routine filling of air
bottles and cascade systems and subject to a 24-hour per day call
to emergencies.
9. Any party to this agreement may terminate his participating
upon thirty (30) days written notice to all other parties. All
outstanding debts must be satisfied before such termination.
All vehicles and equipment purchased under this agreement will
become the property of the remaining participants.

Community Center proposal as presented, and thanked Mr.
Coleman and the committee for the work which has gone
into the development of this proposal.
Funds On motion of Councilman Elliott, seconded by Councilman
DeMirjyn, an additional appropriation from Recreation
Recreation Reserve Funds for automotive equipment maintenance in
the amount of $750.00 was approved.
Joint An agreement under which Redlands will join five other
Purchase 'recharging
in joint purchase of specialized equipment for
Agreement `recharging emergency air breathing tanks used by the
Fire Department was unanimously approved on motion of
Fire Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Elliott.
The cost of the participation will be $5,000.00 as
Department Redlands{ share.
On motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman
Claim Elliott, a claim against the city in the name of
Brandon Billbray was denied in routine manner and referred
to the City's insurance carrier.
Council received a request for the use of Sylvan Park
Use of on April 29 for a group from outside the City. Following
Sylvan discussion, on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded
Park by Councilman Elliott, the use was approved; however the
fee of $10.00 was not waived.
Bills and salaries were ordered paid as approved by the
Finance Committee.
There being no further business, Council adjourned, on
motion, at 8:05 P.M.
