HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_108-2004_CCv0001.pdf AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE REDLANDS PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION This Amendment No. 4 to the Memorandum of Understanding dated January 16, 2001 by and between the City of Redlands ("City") and the Redlands Professional Firefighters Association ("RPFA") is made and entered into this 20'h date of July, 2004. RECITALS WHEREAS, the RFPA and the City have met and conferred in goad faith and in accordance with law with regard to amending the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redlands and the Redlands Professional Firefighters Association. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City and the RFPA to amend Article 13 (Final Year Compensation) of their existing Memorandum of Understanding dated January 16, 2001; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual. promises contained herein, and for such other good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the RFPA and the City agree as follows: Section 1. Article 13 of the Memorandum of Understanding between the RFPA and the City, dated January 16, 2001, is hereby amended and shall read as follows: EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS Effective July 20, 2004, the City shall commence paying and reporting the value of the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as special compensation. The City shall also report the value of any and all other compensation which qualifies as special compensation under Section 571 of the California Code of Regulations. These benefits shall apply to all employees in the Redlands Professional Firefighters Association. The EPMC shall be reported on a pre-tax basis; employees acknowledge they shall be responsible for any and all deferred taxes at the time these retirement funds are accessed. Section 2. Except as modified herein, all of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redlands Professional Firefighters Association, dated May 1, 2000 —June 30, 2005, shall remain in full force and effect. Resolution No. 6301 - Safety Employees Benefit - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath., seconded by Councilmember Gil, the City Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 6301, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redlands for employer pick-up for safety employees. Employee MOUs - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember Gil, the City Council unanimously approved the amendments to the Memoranda of Understanding between the City of Redlands and the Redlands Professional Firefighters Association, the Redlands Police Officers Association, and the Redlands Association of Safety Management Employees and authorized the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the documents on behalf of the City. Bids Rejection - Janitorial Services - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember Gil, the City Council unanimously approved staffs recommendation to reject all bids received for janitorial services and authorized staff to re-bid for this contract. Resolution No. 6310 - Landscape Maintenance District - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember Gil, the City Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 6310, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redlands declaring its intention to levy and collect assessments within Redlands Landscape Assessment District No. 1 for fiscal year 2004-05 pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, establish a time and place for hearing protests (August 3, 2004, at 7:00 P.M.) and rescinding Resolution No. 6260. Resolution No. 6312 - Street Lighting District - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember Gil, the City Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 6312, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redlands declaring its intention to levy and collect assessments within Redlands Street Lighting Assessment District No. I for fiscal year 2004-05 pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, establish a time and place for hearing protests (August 3, 2004, at 7:00 P.M.) and rescinding Resolution No. 6264.
