Following good faith meeting and conferring by
authorized representatives of the City of Redlands and the
Redlands Professional Fire Fighters , Union Local #1354 ,
I .A.F.F. , the parties hereby agree to the following:
1 . The classification of "Fire Fighter/Paramedic"
(Range 48 ) shall be eliminated, and all employees currently
classified as such shall be reclassified to the position of
"Fire righter" (Range 46 ) . Reclassification to Range 46
shall be to the same step as that held in Range 48 (e .g . , a
Fire Fighter/Paramedic currently at Step C of Range 48 shall
be reclassified to Fire Fighter at Step C of Range 46 . )
2 . The Fire Chief may designate up to twelve
employees that will be eligible to receive a paramedic
compensation allowance which shall be equal to ten and
three-tenths percent ( 10 . 30 of Step E of Range 46 , as said
step exists from time to time .
3 . This Agreement is subject to and conditioned
on approval by the City Council . Once approved by the City
Council, this Agreement shall supersede and replace all
contrary provisions contained in Memorandums of Understand-
ing previously entered into by the parties .

Claim On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Councilmember DeMirjyn, the application for leave to present a
late claim by Earl F. Gray was unanimously rejected.
Claim On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Councilmember DeMirjyn, the claim of Kim Schultz in the amount
of $112.00 was found not to be a proper charge against the City
and therefore unanimously rejected.
Claim On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Councilmember DeMirjyn, the claim for indemnification by Howard
Ambulance Company in an unknown amount was found not to be
a proper charge against the City and therefore unanimously
rejected.
Resolution Resolution No. 4297, a resolution of the City Council of the City
No. 4297 of Redlands authorizing a siting and permit assistance grant
application to develop an energy element in conjunction with the
Energy General Plan update to be accomplished in 1987-88, was
Element unanimously approved on motion of Councilmember Wormser,
seconded by Councilmember DeMirjyn.
Firefighter) On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Paramedic Councilmember DeMirjyn, Council unanimously approved the Side
Agreement Letter of Agreement between the City of Redlands and the
Redlands Professional Firefighters, Local No. 1354, I.A.S.F.
deleting the classification 12 Firefighter/Paramedics and
increasing the classification of Firefighter from 12 to 24 and to
establish a paramedic compensation allowance for employees, not
to exceed 12 in number; the paramedic compensation allowance
shall be 10. 3 percent times the "E" step Firefighter's monthly
base pay regardless of the employee's actual classification.
Resolution On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
No. 4298 Councilmember DeMirjyn, Resolution No. 4298, a resolution of the
City Council of the City of Redlands directing the installation of
Traffic stop signs on Ramona Drive at Walnut Avenue and on Phelan
Avenue at Thames Street and University Street, establishing a
12-minute parking space at 111 East Citrus Avenue; and
re-establishing two two-hour parking spaces at 29 South Sixth
Street, was unanimously approved.
Smoking On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Policy Councilmember DeMirjyn, Council unanimously approved a
smoking policy for structures owned by the City of Redlands as
required by Article 542 of the Redlands Ordinance Code.
Airport On motion of Councilmember Wormser, seconded by
Grant Councilmember DeMirjyn, Council unanimously accepted the
Federal Aviation Administration grant offer in the amount of
$750, 000. 00 for improvements at Redlands Municipal Airport.
