HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_139-2005_CCv0001.pdf TENTATIVE AGREEMENT This Tentative Agreement is entered this 5th day July, 2005, by and between the City of Redlands (City) and Redlands Police Officers Association (RPDA). The City and RPDA agree to the following terms and conditions of employment: I. Term of Agreement: 5 years, July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2010 2. Compensation: Year 1: 3% salary increase; Year 2: 3% salary increase; Year 3: 3% salary increase; Year 4: 2% salary increase; Year 5: Market survey of top step base salary and adjustment to median or mean, whichever is higher. 3. Retirement: Year 2: The City shall pay an additional one-third (1/3) of the contribution rate attributed to the 3% a 50 retirement formula; Year 3: The City shall pay an additional one-third (1/3) of the contribution rate attributed to the 3% @ 50 retirement formula; Year 4: The City shall pay 100% of the contribution rate attributed to the 3% @ 50 retirement formula. 4. Uniform allowance shall be $1,200 per year. 5. Life insurance in the amount of$25,000 shall be provided by the City. 5. City shall provide a tax deferred savings plan for excess accruals. 7. The RPOA shall receive the same on duty death benefits as other units. S. The City and RPOA shall work together on language modifications, including the incorporation of side-letters into the MOU. 9, The RPOA shall have four (4) days of bereavement leave. 10. Agreement - University of Redlands Work-Study Program - On motion of Councilmember. Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember George, the City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the University of Redlands to participate in the 2005-06 Work-Study Program and authorized the Mayor to execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, the document on behalf of the City. Aareement - Redlands Police Officers Association - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember George, the City Council unanimously approved the tentative agreement with the Redlands Police Officers Association and authorized the Mayor to execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, the document on behalf of the City. Emplo3Ment Agreement - City Attorne - On motion of Councilmembcr Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember George, the City Council unanimously approved the seventh amendment to the employment agreement with City attorney Daniel J. McHugh and authorized the Mayor to execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, the document on behalf of the City. Employment Agreement - Cit. Manager - On motion of Councilmember Gilbreath, seconded by Councilmember George, the City Council unanimously approved the fourth amendment to the employment agreement with City Manager John Davidson and authorized the Mayor to execute, and the City Clerk to attest to, the document on behalf of the City. PUBLIC HEARINGS Resolution No. 6370 - Landscape Maintenance Assessment District No. 1 - Public hearing was advertised for this time and place to consider Resolution No. 6370, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redlands confirming a diagram and assessment for the 2005-06 fiscal year in connection :with Landscaping Maintenance District No. 1 pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, Part 2 of Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code for Landscape Maintenance Assessment District No. 1. Public Works Director Mutter reported the preliminary report for the Landscape Maintenance Assessment District No. 1 was presented to the City Council on June 7, 2005. The City Council adopted Resolution No. 6368 granting preliminary approval to the Engineer's Report and adopted Resolution No. 6369 on June 7, 2005, declaring its intention to levy and collect assessment for fiscal year 2005-06 pursuant to the Lighting and Landscaping Act of 1972. There will be no increase in assessments over the 2005-06 fiscal year. The final step in the process is to conduct a public hearing and receive testimony from the public on the proposed assessment for Fiscal year 2005-06. Adoption of Resolution July 5,2005 Page 5
