This Indenture, made the 23d day of September
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety
Between Dwight D. Johnson, of City
of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California
the party of the first part,
And
The City of Redlands in the County and State
aforesaid.
the party of the second part, Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part, for
and in consideration of the sum of Five
dollars lawful money of the United
States of America, to him in hand paid, by the said party of the second
part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents, demise,
release, and forever QUITCLAIM, unto the said party of the second part, and to
its heirs and assigns for purposes and use as a public highway all those
certain lots... pieces...or parcels of land situated in the said City of Redlands County of
San Bernardino, State of California, and bounded and particularly described as follows,
to-wit:- —
A strip of land Thirty (30)
feet in width, Fifteen (15) ft. east,
and fifteen (15) ft. west of a
line which is described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the north line of the South east
one-quarter of Section Three (3),
Township Two (2) South, Range
Three (3) west, San Bernardino
Base and Meridian, distance
Forty hundred forty-three 84/100 ft.
(4043.84) east of the north west
corner of the south west quarter
of Section Thence aforesaid;
Thence South 33 degrees 05' West
(Magnetic Variation 14 degrees 30' East),
One-hundred forty eight ft. (148.'0);
Thence South 0 degrees 22' West, one-hundred
forty-eight 2/10 ft. (148.2);
Thence South 23 degrees 55' West, Ninety,
Seven (97') ft.;
Thence South 44 degrees 53' West, One-
hundred 7/10 ft. (100.'7);
Thence South 6 degrees 08' East. One-
hundred-eighty-three 4/10 ft. (183.'4);
Thence South 2 degrees 56' East. Two
hundred-forty-three (243.'0) ft.;
Thence South 11 degrees 24' West, One-
hundred-seventee 5/10 ft. (117.'5)
Thence South 23 degrees 17' West, Seven-

Thence South 24 degrees 04' East, Two-
hundred-ten ft. (210.'0);
Thence South 17 degrees 39' East, One-hundred-
seventy 7/10 ft. (170.'7) to a point
on the south line of Section Three
(3) aforesaid, and also on the South
line of the City of redlands. The above
described property contains One 95/100 acres (1.95)
Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, re-
mainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof.
To have and to hold, all and singular the said premises, together with
the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, and to its heirs
and assigns forever.
s/With the express condition that said lands are to be accepted and
used by said second party as a public highway, and if said lands cease
to be used for such purpose, the same shall revert to the Grantor herein.
In Witness Whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set
his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

hundred and Ninety, before me, s/Chas. P. Squires
a Notary Public, in and for said County of San Bernardino
residing therein, duly commissioned and sworn, personally appeared
s/Dwight D. Johnson
known to me to be the same person described in whose name is subscribed
to and who executed the within instrument and he acknowledged to
me that he executed the same.
