This Indenture, Made the Second day of  October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety  Between Dwight D. Johnson of the County of San Bernardino, State of Cali- fornia the party of the first part, and The City of Redlands in the said County of San Bernardino, State of California the party of the second part,  Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the  sum of Five Dollars,  lawful money of the United States of America, to him in hand  paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,  HAS granted, bargained and sold and by these presents DOes grant bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part, and to its successors and assigns forever, all that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the afore- said County of San Bernardino, State of California and bounded and particularly described as follows, to wit:- A strip of land thirty (30 feet in width, fifteen (15) feet East and fifteen (15) feet west of a line which is described as follows, -ing: beginning at a point on the north line of the South east one quarter (1/4) of Section Three (3), Township Two (2) South, Range Three (3) west, San Bernar- dino base and meridian, distance forty hun- dred forty three 84/100 (4043'84) feet East of the North west corner of the South West quarter (1/4) of Section Three (3) aforesaid; Thence South 33 degrees 05' West (Magnetic Varia- tion 14 degrees 30' East), one-hundred and forty eight (148.'0) feet; Thence South 0 degrees 22' west, one hundred and forty eigth and 2/10 (148'2) feet Thence South 23 degrees 55' West, Ninety seven (97') feet; Thence South 44 degrees 53' West one hun- dred and 7/10 ft. (100.'7) feet; Thence South 6 degrees 08' East. one hundred and eighty three and 4/10 (183'4) feet; Thence South 2 degrees 56' East two hundred and forty-three (243.'0) feet Thence South 11 degrees 24' West, one hundred and seventeen and 5/10 (117'5) feet, Thence South 23 degrees 17' West, Seven hundred and forty four and 3/10 (744'3) feet; Thence South 17 degrees 24' East, four hundred and fifty two and 9/10 (452'9) feet; Thence South 16 degrees 9' East two hundred and eight and 3/10 (208'3) feet; Thence south 24 degrees 4' East, two hundred and ten (210'0) feet; Thence South 17 degrees 39' East, one hundred and seventy and 7/10 (170'7) feet to a point on the south line of Section Three (3) aforesaid and also on the South line of the City of Redlands. The above tract of land containing one and 95/100 (1.95) acres. It being understood by and between the parties hereto that the above des- cribed tract of land is so conveyed as aforesaid to the grantee herein for the purposes and uses of a public highway or street and when the express condition that in case such public highway or street shall be abandoned or discontin ued the said tract of land shall revert to the grantor herein. Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances there- unto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof. And Also, all the estate, right, title, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever, as well in law as in equity, of the said party of the first part, of, in and to the above -described premises, and every part and parcel thereof, with the appurtenances. To have and to hold all and singular the above mentioned and described premises, together with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, its successors and assigns forever, when the conditions aforesaid In Witness Whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Johnson known to me to be the same person described in, whose name is subscribed to and who executed the within instrument and he acknowledged to me that he executed the same.
