organized and existing under the laws of the State of" California,

W18ER ® That the City and the Contractor , for "the
consideration hereinafter named, agree as follows:

ZCQPEQE KQRY The Contractor will furnish all materials and
will perform all of the work for the following:
Install two (2) Chain Link Slide Gates at Redlands Municipal
Airport, the east gate to be 20 ' wide by 61 is and the west gate
to be 15 ' wide by 61 high. Each gate it have three (3) strands of
barbed wire on the top. Install two (211 heavy-duty commercial
slide gate operators, 115 volt, single phase. Also, install two
(2) coded card readers to control gate opening. Install four (4)
electronic vehicle detectors with two (2) 'Loop configurations for
each gate. Provide power at the equipment location by installation
of new circuits at existing service panels. Provide one thousand
(1,000) magnetic cards imprinted with sequential numbering.
Further specilor-ications are contained in the Automated Service
Company Proposal for Security Gate System located at Redlands
Airport dated August 21 , 1986, attached hereto and made a part
hereof.

shall Take monthly progress payments based on work completed and
invoices received.

(30) days excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal Holidays from and
alter the date of commencing the work.

Proposal , Proposal , Agreement , Insurance Certification and
Specifications (as contained in proposal) .

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL - REDLANDS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ELECTRONIC
SECURITY GATES
The City of Redlands hereby solicits proposals for the de-
sign, specifications and installation of electrical gates for
auto ingress and egress at the Redlands Municipal Airport.
The scope of this project shall include but not be limited to
the following:
1. Furnish and install two (2) Chain Link Slide Gates . (See
attached map) The east gate shall be twenty (20) feet
wide by six (6) feet high and the west gate shall be
fifteen (15) feet wide by six (6) feet high. The fabric
will be manufactured 2 inch mesh, 9 gauge. Each gate
will have three (3) strands of barbed wire on the top.
The gates shall travel on two (2) "U" groove wheels with
zert grease fittings.
2. Furnish and install two (2) heavy-duty commercial slide
gate operators 115 volt, single phase. The gate opera-
tors, will have at least a. 1/2 horsepower, high torque,
capacitor run , reversible motor protected against
overload.
3 . Furnish and install two (2) coded card readers to control
gate opening . Also furnish and install four (4) elect-
ronic vehicle detectors with two (2) loop configurations
for each gate . The outside loop and dectectors shall
provide for entrance for one vehicle for each card
insert. The inside loop shall open the gate for depart-
ing vehicle.
4 . Provide power at the equipment location by installing new
circuits at the existing service panels near each gate.
5 . Provide one thousand ( 1 , 000 ) magnetic cards imprinted
with sequential numbering. '
6. Provide evidence of liability insurance as specified on
attached "Certificate of Insurance" for the City of
Redlands .

OPTION:
Furnish and install one ( 1) touchcode access control
system with two (2) outdoor touchpads as an alternative
to the coded card readers and magnetic cards . System
will have the capability of restricting access according
to business hours, or will allow 24 hour access. Touch-
pads will be installed to provide easy access from a
vehicle.
The proposal shall include a "not to exceed" cost for the
project, time required for completion, and the name of the
individual who will serve as the project contact. A separate
proposal shall be submitted for the project with the "option"
installation instead of the coded card readers. Two copies
of each proposal shall be submitted.
The proposals shall be delivered to the Office of the City
Engineer and shall be received no later than 5 : 00 p.m. on
Tuesday, September 2, 1986.
